This is a beautiful inn staffed by caring, capable staff in beautiful Oaxaca. One of the delights which I didn't catch on to until about day 4 is that each morning the large dining room table is set in a new combination of colors, table linens, glassware, dishes, textiles and flowers. really a work of art. Snap a picture each morning of your stay!

This was my first time there, and I was very pleasantly surprised. Everything is immaculate, there are fresh flowers around, the beds are super-comfortable, the breakfasts delicious! I always had a combination of the famous Oaxaca hot chocolate with their excellent coffee for a wonderful mocha drink! Staff was also very, very pleasant and accomodating. There is a computer for guests' use on the second floor. I would definitely stay there again!

Room Tip: Both "Las Bugambilias" and "Las Margaritas" rooms are delightful; the former on...

Welcoming smiles await you from all staff at Casa del Las Bugambilias. We stayed in the smallest house, El Secreto, which had limited space to wander about but offered up front row seats to breakfast preparation each morning and had a great terrace to escape to when you wanted a nice respite from the day. Breakfasts were an edible piece of nutritional art, plentiful to get you started on your day. There was always someone present who could both speak English and function as a local guide advisor. The art, furnishings and overall architectural aspects of the home resonate with the Oaxaca we experienced. It is definitely a place we would return to for both the ambiance and value.

Room Tip: We stayed in Begonia in El Secreto which was a king size bed and ample room for clothes. All bathro...

We have been to Oaxaca many times but this was our first stay a Las Bugambilias, it will not be our last! The location is excellent, within easy walking distance of most of the central cultural centers, museums, galleries and restaurants. The rooms and common areas are beautifully decorated and the whole property is is immaculate. Beds are comfortable, bathrooms are very modern and there is hot water all the time. The staff are welcoming, efficient and all seem to be smiling most of the time. The breakfasts are a high point of each day, both for the food and the lively conversation at the twelve person table. The breakfast main offering was different each of the days we were there and all were exceptional, but any special request were easily accommodated. There were always two juices, hot chocolate, various breads, granola and yogurt as well. Note:The three rooms downstairs are at the end of a hall near the stairs and the kitchen where activity starts early. Guests chatting in the halls on the way to their rooms are easily heard in the first floor rooms. We are as bad as any about being quiet after great a day and are not bothered by hallway conversation, but if you are a light sleeper ask for an upstairs room.

Room Tip: Upstairs due to hallway activity noise on first floor

Quiet and lovely, impeccably neat and clean. The decorations are striking and imaginative, with a sense of humor. z The staff speak perfect English and are very helpful. One must mention the breakfasts: Not so large as to keep you from snacking and having a good lunch, but (again) imaginative and fun, with freshly squeezed juice and strong hot coffee,. We have been there many times and always look forward to going back.

Room Tip: There is one suite, with beds in two different rooms -- suitable for a family or two people who pref...

We very much enjoyed our stay at Casa de las Bugambilias. We stayed in one of the smaller rooms (Camelias) to save money and it was fine, but is small. Highlights of our stay were the excellent breakfasts and our conversations with other guests--we usually lingered over breakfast for well over an hour--met several people with friends in common. We also ate at their restaurant (La Olla) one day, the comida del dia was very reasonably priced and excellent. During the afternoon we often checked our email in the patio (the wireless connection in our room was not particularly good) and on several days were offered a complimentary beer while sitting there. Bugambilias is family run and they care for their guests.
