Everything about this place was great! Location was perfect, the b&b was lovely inside, breakfasts were delicious and the staff were great too, great value for money. I would definitely stay here again if in Oaxaca.

The hospitality and comfort are only the beginning. My room was spacious as was the the bathroom. The terrace outside the patio door was a bonus. The breakfast was an adventure every day as we were treated to great variety of local produce, bread, and cooking. The juice mixes were a great wake-up.

We were in the center of all the happenings, churches and a stone's throw from the main square and marketplaces.

The smiles and gracious warmth were a topper to each day.

Absolutely loved this family run b&b in Oaxaca. From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel so welcome. Everyone who works there is incredibly helpful and friendly- just what you need when you arrive in a new city. The building itself is gorgeous- the rooms are as pretty as they look in pictures. There's a nice wee library area, with access to a computer, as well as a beautiful outdoor courtyard to chill out in. Having access to the roof terrace on top of the attached restaurant is also a real bonus. They make AMAZING cocktails here! The location is ideal for getting around the city, and the included breakfasts are brilliant. Different traditional Mexican dishes every morning, as well as fruit, granola & breads.
When we had a spare day in the city at the end of the trip we were able to leave our bags in the hotel for safety, and everyone greeted us like old friends after a week away! I can't speak highly enough of them to be honest.

A friend and I recently left our husbands behind and took off for a two-week trip to Oaxaca during its Day of the Dead festivities. Our first stop was two nights at Las Bugambilias B&B's spacious Girasoles Suite, which offered us the privacy of two separate, well appointed rooms with a tiled bathroom in between. The front room of the suite does get some kitchen noise from La Olla, the three-tiered restaurant adjoining Las Bugambilias. But that was not a major issue. In fact, we loved the convenience of having La Olla and its great food right next door. Breakfasts, served at a long table dressed with colorful linen, were satisfying and beautifully presented. Rooms and common areas are decorated with flair and whimsy. The staff were most welcoming and attentive to detail. All in all, our stay there made for a great beginning to our two weeks in Oaxaca.

Room Tip: Girasoles Suite excellent for friends or family traveling together.

I've stayed at Las Bugambilias several times over the past 13 or so years and it just keeps getting better. Great location, wonderful breakfasts, comfortable quiet rooms...and I have always enjoyed the conversation with other guests over breakfast coffee. Rene, Adriana and staff create a lovely environment that attracts guests who are interested in Oaxacan culture and who can share their own observations and experiences.

Be sure to talk to Rene about a tour. You won't regret it!

I hope to return soon.

My parents, my husband and I stayed in the "family" room of the main house. Lots of space, two giagantic bedrooms (one with a little sitting area) and a little kitchenette (with coffee machine and free coffee in the fridge) were perfect. TEENY TINY shower room with loo so if you are not good friends you may find this a little disconcerting but value for money is excellent for the room. On top of that, the breakfast is great - varies each day - all you can drink coffee, chocolate, juice with fruit, yoghurt and musli as well as a warm option of eggs or pancakes or tamales all served at a beautifully laid communal table. There are multiple sitting areas - inside, outside, on the roof terrace if you want to get some sun - and a restaurant attached to the hotel. The hosts speak perfect English and their attention to detail was remarkable.

This is definitely a pearl. Nicely located very close to the Santo Domingo Church. It feels like being with (nice) family. Great breakfast. And since it was close to the Day of the Dead, they had already the decoration (see the pictures with the Katrina)
