“Cactus galore”

Too bad one can not go through the gardens on your own. Sometimes tours just give to much information.

“Visiting times too limited”
Reviewed July 30, 2012

For some reason, you can only go through the garden with a tour guide, and English-speaking tours are limited to like 3 forty-minute slots per week. So we didn't actually get to go. If you really want to see this, figure out the times and plan ahead.

This is an awesome experience. I especially appreciated holding teosinte--the ancestor of maize (corn). Be prepared for up to three hours in the heat though. The tours are in English and Spanish on alternate days.

Bring your camera along - great photo ops. Interesting tour reviewing the history of the region and the integral role that agriculture played in the development of oxaca.

“very peaceful and pretty”
Reviewed July 9, 2012

the gardens were designed by artists and it really shows: so well laid out and nicely designed. There are not many tours and the day we went it had rained earlier and they cut the tour time in half because the ground was wet. We felt a bit disappointed as the paths are all gravel or stone and the rain had stopped. But the tour we had (in Spanish) was good and our guide was so enthusiastic about the work that happens there. Would really love to see it all.
