“great little place”
Reviewed April 24, 2012

we happened upon Cafe los Cuiles by accident and wound up going back again and again for breakfast. Great mostly local, mostly organic food, excellent local organic coffe, super friendly people. Free Wi-Fi. But best of all, a very inspiring progressive attitude: Read about it at: http://www.cuiles.com/cafe1.html

“Great little cafe”

Good place for breakfast or a light lunch. Menu includes quality salads and various toasted sandwiches, everything is well priced. Nice relaxed atmosphere and friendly service.

“Nicely prepared food, good service, in a very pleasant environment.”
Reviewed February 4, 2012

Set in a small courtyard, shared with a very interesting ceramics gallery (also recommended), this cafe is a delightful place to stop for lunch. We went on the recommendation of a fellow traveler who works as a chef. Just off a small plaza (Plazuela Las Virgenes), it was cool and pretty. The service was prompt, the fruit waters we had (cantaloupe, a.k.a melon, and watermelon, a.k.a. sandia) were delicious and refreshing, and the local dishes (enchilada verde with tasajo and tlayuda with tasajo), as well as the organic spinach salad, were filling and very satisfying. We finished with a cafe a la olla, which was redolent of cinnamon, and not weak at all (a complaint we have had with some of the coffee shops in town).

“A nice afternoon break”
Reviewed November 20, 2011

We visited Cafe los Cuiles a couple of times while in Oaxaca. It made a nice afternoon break for our six year old. We could sit and relax, have a tasty snack, coffee, malteada or margarita and leisurely enjoy some down time. The staff were very friendly and service was good, if a little slow. We were never in a hurry to leave. My son rates the homemade chocolate chip cookies 5 stars!
