“YUM”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 16, 2014

I found this place thanks to trip advisor and thankfully it was just a stones throw from our hotel. We had the res (beefsteak) and chicken tinga tortas. It's a cheap tasty meal to be enjoyed in the park nearby

“Best Tortas in Oaxaca”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 26, 2014

This is a best place to have tortas when in Oaxaca. Try the Cubano it is just out of the world. Try and get there as soon as possible as if they run out they close and they leave.

Really good tortas, really good price for them! Many locations - I ate at 2 different ones and both were very good.

“YUM!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 27, 2013

This Oaxacan 'chuckwagon' lives up to it's reputation. The lineups seem to start at noon and continue til ? but the line is very fast-moving. You place your order with La Senora who takes your money and gives you a slip of paper with your order on it. Then after a short wait you are asked if you want it to go (packaged in a bag) or to eat on site in which case the sandwich is cut in half and placed on a melamine plate . The wagon is on a corner of a lovely, local park so you can sit on a park bench and watch the world go by as you enjoy your food.

This was our first visit so we had the well-recommended Cubana and it was delicious. There are bowls of marinated veggies on the counter and you can add this to your sandwich as well. A lot of the locals seem just to add the marinade to their sandwiches, but the veggies are delicious. The cost? 32 pesos....around $2.50 and this will hold you for the afternoon.

Be sure to add this to your foody list! A great local experience.
