Two and a half weeks into a three week Spanish immersion trip, we found Cafe Bistrot Epicuro in Oaxaca City, Mexico. This restaurant rivals high end eateries in Chicago and New York. The service was impeccable and the food delicious. We experienced the full dinner of salad, entree and dessert including craft beer and great wine. The Mediterranean influence was subtle in the salad and the tuna with my salmon having the Spanish touch of a mango salsa. Coffee was freshly brewed with newly ground beans. Dessert was chocolate flan and tiramisu. Both had the right balance of lightness yet flavorful-delicious! Cold Limoncello was the perfect ending to a perfect meal. The owner needs to be commended for a lovely setting and having a chef and wait staff that attends to every detail from the garnishes to the freshness of the food and the ultimate presentation.
