We made the trip to Apoala with 5 other persons and our guide Yves. Yves is part of the experience because he has so many good stories and nice sense of humor. We did 2 hikes, each about 4 houres. It is not an easy hike, lots of climbing and descending, so good shoes and a bit of good condition is helpfull.. Beautifull nature, walking through a canyon and descending to a waterfall, do some swimming and meeting several local people...the food was local and traditional but very nice. The beers and mezcal were very welcome at the end of the day :-)
It is a bumpy ride to get there but it was worth it. Thank you Tierraventura for this adventure!

My partner and I felt really lucky finding Tierraventura during our recent trip to Oaxaca, and going on a 2-day hiking trip to Santiago Apoala with Claudia and Yves! It was very well organized and informative; and we were really impressed with the natural beauty of Sierra Norte. Claudia and Yves were a pleasure to be around, generously sharing all kinds of information we wanted to know. They are deeply connected to the community and have invaluable resources that they offered to share with us. They have the coolest dog Quita, who was also our companion during the hike and made it even more enjoyable. We liked being a part of a very small group as it gave us a more personalized experience. We highly recommend this company and will look forward to do more trips with them in the future!

We had a wonderful time with Eve and Claudia exploring the Sierra Norte! We would never have been able to do something like this on our own, and certainly wouldn't have know about the amazing place we stopped for lunch at the end. Would definitely recommend looking into all of their tour options if you are in Oaxaca.

Yves and Claudia organized a fantastic hiking trip to the Sierra Norte’s Cueva la Iglesia, about an hour outside of Oaxaca for myself and a couple. Beautiful scenery, delicious snacks, delectable meal in a small village, and wonderful information and anecdotes from them. Couldn’t have found or planned a better day outdoors myself!

This was an incredible experience. My partner and I did a day hike through Cueva de La Iglesia. We really appreciated their intentionality in working with the community and not imposing tourists into the community.
