This was an incredible experience. My partner and I did a day hike through Cueva de La Iglesia. We really appreciated their intentionality in working with the community and not imposing tourists into the community.

We went on the Ixtepeji/La Cumbre hike in the cloud forest and fully recommend! Claudia and Yves are kind, informative and fun! Great way to see the surrounding mountains in Oaxaca

We thoroughly enjoyed our hike with Yves and Claudia! They picked us up from our lodging in Oaxaca city and we drove out to the Sierra Norte for our hike in Pueblos Mancomunados. We were accompanied by a local guide from the village who was skilled in foraging mushrooms. He and Yves gathered many mushrooms along the way, which we had a chance to enjoy at a comedor in the village when the hike ended. The hike was a visual marvel -- we were greeted by pine forests, cacti, agaves, cows and horses. The guides were incredibly knowledgable and we learned many interesting facts about the region and the different plant species. Most importantly, Yves and Claudia are very friendly and down to earth people, which made the whole experience very enjoyable!

Being picked up by Claudia and Lorena and spending the day in Santa Catarina Lachatao was like spending time with long lost friends. I felt immediately comfortable with these two magical women. The drive from Oaxaca City into the mountains was beautiful as is the town of Santa Catarina Lachatao. Claudia and the town know each other very well. We were welcomed by a local family and served delicious coffee, chocolate and memelitas. Then, a young man from the town joined us as our guide to hike to the un-excavated ruins of Jaguar Mountain which provided the most beautiful view of the surroundings. We explored a bit, walked back down and ate another meal outside of the beautiful 16th Century church. So much more happened..dreams were shared and interpreted friendships were formed, ceremony and ritual were performed. It was a beautiful day.

Claudia and Yves provide a highly personalized experience that allows you to experience the communities, the culture and nature in a calm and informed way. They are an encyclopedia of knowledge about Oaxacan culture that is imparted in the right dosis and at the right time. We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 day hike-tour with them and would do it again and again and again.
