This is an Argentinian steakhouse outside the downtown area of Oaxaca. I believe the neighborhood is called Reforma. My husband and I spent a month in Oaxaca this past spring and were craving a good steak. We took a short taxi ride to The Che and sat in the terrace area. We aren't smokers but weren't bothered by anyone puffing. We ordered the tableside prepared Ceasar salad, steak, and Bananas Singapore (similar to Bananas Foster) also prepared tableside. The meal was delicious. Carlos, a son of the owner, came over and chatted with us for awhile, which was a nice gesture on his part. This place is expensive by Oaxacan standards, but if you are wanting a quality steak and excellent service, I highly recommend it for a night out.
We liked it so well we tried it a second time before our departure to the U.S. Carlos again came by our table to visit along with his lovely wife. Amazingly, he remembered our names!!! The meal was well-prepared from the garden salad, which we opted for this time, through the complementary after-dinner drinks.
