We were delighted to find the corrida comida available when we arrived at 6:30 this evening. With four main course options, we sampled two different entrees. I found the dorado cooked in paper to be light and delicious, seasoned perfectly with garlic and herbs. My friends chose chicken topped with green pipian (pumpkin seed) mole which was mild and flavorful. Accompanying the meats was a seasoned rice, fresh bread, soup choices (broccoli or ejote), Oaxacan papayan water, and dessert. The entire menu cost 60 pesos! Incredible. The service was friendly and efficient. Such a shame that the cities decline in tourists has such a negative impact on restauranteurs, who keep supplies ready, and pay staff to serve fewer guests. I hope this treasure will survive as I will definitely keep Los Naranjos on my list for next time I return to Oaxaca.
