“Good service and tasty food, just off the tourist path”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 30, 2011

We were delighted to find the corrida comida available when we arrived at 6:30 this evening. With four main course options, we sampled two different entrees. I found the dorado cooked in paper to be light and delicious, seasoned perfectly with garlic and herbs. My friends chose chicken topped with green pipian (pumpkin seed) mole which was mild and flavorful. Accompanying the meats was a seasoned rice, fresh bread, soup choices (broccoli or ejote), Oaxacan papayan water, and dessert. The entire menu cost 60 pesos! Incredible. The service was friendly and efficient. Such a shame that the cities decline in tourists has such a negative impact on restauranteurs, who keep supplies ready, and pay staff to serve fewer guests. I hope this treasure will survive as I will definitely keep Los Naranjos on my list for next time I return to Oaxaca.

“Modest restaurant that tries hard to please”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 23, 2011

Years ago we ate in a different restaurant with the same name. This is a modest restaurant on a side street. Good not great food we didn't try pizzas but that may be a good bet here as they have a wood burning oven. Excellent value.

“Simple and good luncheon special”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 1, 2011

A somewhat unpretentious atmosphere in a courtyard with a moderate number of tables. We went there for lunch and they only option was a set four-course meal, although it had some options within it -- for example, a choice between two soups, a choice of dressing for your salad, a choice of 5 entrees, a refreshing dessert, and a pitcher of fresh refreshcos for only 60 pesos ($4-5 US). Our waitress was very friendly and even brought a dessert (complimentary) for the child who accompanied us for lunch and just snacked on our food.

“Not among top5 for certain”

Cozy family run place. Food was ok, choice limited (on our visit, restaurant was out of meat!). However this place is nowhere close to top, and especially top 1 :))

“ALERT> This is an update...New owners”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 18, 2011

Just returned to Oaxaca Nov 16. Los Narajos has been sold since we were last here. The new owners are not doing the same job as other owners. Didn't see another place to update prior review. Can you remove the old review?
