“worth the walk”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 7, 2013

We spend several months every winter in Oaxaca and this is consistently one of our favorite lunch spots. It's a bit of a hike from Centro Historico, but well worth the extra effort.

“I want my food arranged with more flair”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 29, 2012

Look at these plates. This says it all. The food is good, organic, tasty, but come on folks, this is Oaxaca, you can do better. The place is north of the historic district so a bit out of the way. If I go to this district there are other places to go to.

“Every visitor should go here at least once!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 17, 2012

Itanoni has a passion for local, native corn and they have the most outstanding tortillias in Oaxaca. They are open for breakfast and lunch only. I only go when I can get there before noon so that the breakfast menu is still available. Favorites are the tinga Tacos and the 3 tostadas. My friends are hooked on the egg platters. open Sundays. Best to take a taxi from the Centro - 40 pesos. you can walk right out of the restaurant about four blocks to the end of the road and catch a city bus to return, or walk.

“Authentic”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 11, 2012

This place for lunch only...closes at 4pm is as good as everyone says!
Please take a dictionary with you, as there is no wifi.
Totally recommend as the foodie destination of Oaxaca!

“Best tortillas in town”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 1, 2012

It's hard to find authentic, village-style tortillas unless you go to an actual village. Itanoni makes them, although with better corn. Here you will tortillas made from a variety of corns. The place is very casual and doesn't serve complex meals, but what it does serve it does very well. The tacos are great (because of the tortillas!) and there is a magnificent variety of salsas to go with them.
