“Hole in the wall in the center of town, but simple and delicious pozole!”

My family is originally from the state of Guanajuato. The pozole they serve here is pretty similar. It was pretty good. I like to be able to spice it up more, but you can't go wrong coming here. Simple atmosphere.

“Pozole - the real thing.”

La Polozeria is a few blocks from the zocalo so it's in the center of Oaxaca. Its pozole is as good as any I've ever had and if you haven't had it, this is a perfect place to become acquainted with this comfort food. It's a meal in itself and very well priced. Buen provecho!

“Went on a recommendation and it lived exceeded expectations.”
Reviewed November 25, 2010

Went to La Pozoleria today, (a Thursday) to try the pozole verde. It was my first pozole experience and it was amazing. The cook let me try a sample before I ordered, and just one taste and I was sold. I liked all the accompaniments which seemed to add to the complex flavour of the soup.

If you want to try to something off the beaten path, this is it!

“If you never tried Pozole, this is the place!”
Reviewed November 22, 2010

I have had pozole a few times and never really loved it, until I tried this plce. It is a broth based soup of white corn and either chicken or pork. We happened to find this place on a Thursday, when they do green pozole, the corn and pork version and it was so flavourful. They give you a bunch of various condiments to addd, like avocado, chilies, and chicharons,( pork rind), that you can add it to further spice it up. They serve enchilladas as well as a couple other things, but the pozole is the thing. Very friendly service, as they offered samples before we ever ate. They only serve fruit drinks and soft drinks, so uf you want a beer, maybe you can bring your own in. It is very reasonable.
