I spent 2 nights in this very nice guesthouse!
My room was really clean..I chose the one with private bathroom..
Ventilation, net on the windows, good wifi connection, furnitures for bathroom..

Pretty close from the center. And the surprise is the really nice terrasse.

The boss gives you advices about the city and she is helpful!

The shower was not so hot, but maybe it was beacause i took my shower too late!;)

We are currently staying at el quijote at were welcomed with open arms by Emilio and Marta. Yes the rooms are small but you do not generally plan to be in them for that long except to sleep. Our bed was huge and extremely comfortable and our sheets and towels were changed daily. It feels very safe being here and the walk to the zocalo is about 10 mins with things to see along the way. We booked the mitla tour through Emilio and had a blast. Would definitely recommend the place. Make sure you have cash as they do not have eftpos and visit the terrace upstairs at night- it is nice to watch the world go by :-)

We were looked after incredibly well by the couple who run this hostel. Our room was extremely basic, more so that we anticipated and the loo and shower room were across the corridor. The room was one of the last available, small and cramped, situated on the ground floor along the left passage after reception. I have the feeling there are better rooms upstairs and the roof terrace is great The toilet and shower room assigned to this room were very small and extremely basic but we did find the quality of hostels throughout our travels in Mexico to be of a very poor standard and overpriced. It's best to arrive and look around as I found that many of the hostels featured on Tripadvisor, Lonely Planet and Booking.com were not as expected, more basic and overpriced. The couple in charge of this hostel truly made up for the lack of comforts in our allocated room and were fantastic hosts.

We are currently staying here for a week. Its been very pleasant. Easy walking to the centro. The rooms are very clean. Shared bath is just fine with good hot water availble in the showers.

Look its not the Ritz but its quiet, clean, located close to the markets. About a 10-12 minute walk to the Zocolo. The onwers are onsite all the time and very friendly and helpful

Would recommend it to anyone who wants to have an inexpensive place to stay that is safe, clean and within walking distance of most areas in the center.

There is a safe in each room to place your laptop or valuables when leaving for the day,

Happy Traveling

We stayed 3 nights wih Emilio and Marta and would really recommend this hostel. It is very clean (blankets and towels wer replaced every day) and it is also perfectly located: just outside the noisy part of town but within 10minutes walking from the Zocalo. Emilio is really helpfull in everything.

The rooms were quaint, quiet with a fan and decent furniture. The shared bathrooms were alright, small with the showers wetting the entire room.
The owners are super friendly and helpful. The terrace is nice. The location is fine with a walking time of about 10-15 minutes to the city center. The adjacent area is safe.

We loved this place. We booked a private room with bathroom, TV, and AC rather than staying in the hostel. The owners (a couple) were so friendly and welcoming. The room was cool and comfortable, nothing fancy but a good value for the price. It is nice and quiet, too. My one complaint was the 10-15 minute walk to the Zocalo which we did several times a day, on very crowded sidewalks in the heat. Next time I would probably try to stay closer to the Zocalo, restaurants and other sights. But the room itself, and the hospitality, were excellent. It's also across the street from a tour office so it's easy to catch the shuttle to ruins and other sights.
