“a perfect stay”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 20, 2012

We stayed 3 nights wih Emilio and Marta and would really recommend this hostel. It is very clean (blankets and towels wer replaced every day) and it is also perfectly located: just outside the noisy part of town but within 10minutes walking from the Zocalo. Emilio is really helpfull in everything.

The rooms were quaint, quiet with a fan and decent furniture. The shared bathrooms were alright, small with the showers wetting the entire room.
The owners are super friendly and helpful. The terrace is nice. The location is fine with a walking time of about 10-15 minutes to the city center. The adjacent area is safe.

We loved this place. We booked a private room with bathroom, TV, and AC rather than staying in the hostel. The owners (a couple) were so friendly and welcoming. The room was cool and comfortable, nothing fancy but a good value for the price. It is nice and quiet, too. My one complaint was the 10-15 minute walk to the Zocalo which we did several times a day, on very crowded sidewalks in the heat. Next time I would probably try to stay closer to the Zocalo, restaurants and other sights. But the room itself, and the hospitality, were excellent. It's also across the street from a tour office so it's easy to catch the shuttle to ruins and other sights.

I stayed in this hotel with my family during last eastern and in the beginning I was affraid that it was a Hostal. After I get to the hotel I was pleasantly surprised with the incredible attention from the owner to guide thru the city, a really clean hotel and bedrooms and a great location, only few blocks from the city downtown.

In the beginning is really hard to find the hotel, as the entrance is really small, but if you follow the street's numbering you'll find the small entrance with the Quijote image at the top.

I really appreciated the guidance from the owners for resturants, markets and important places to visit and how to get there.

I really recommend this place.

This place was more like an upscale hostal that a hotel; if you don't mind the minimalism, it's great. Located in the slightly less desirable south-of-the-Zocalo area of Oaxaca, but less than 10 minutes safe walk to all the city sights. Very clean but very basic rooms. Tile/concrete construction plus noisy co-residents can lead to a bit of noise inside, but very little outside noise filtered into my room. Directly across the street from the collectivo services to Monte Alban and other surrounding Zapotec ruins. Owners are a very sweet couple (who speak no English, but understand a bit). You'll not find anything better for the money in Oaxaca.

Stayed in double private ensuite room. Cute pink Mexican style. Clean. Owners were very committed and earnest and keen to help. About 5 mins walk to the Zocalo central area. Bring the balance in cash when you arrive as they don't take card.

Fair play to the owner we arrived in oaxaca very and we got him outa bed and got sorted with a room we didnt care where we stayed that night unfortunatly we stayed here another 2 nites because we didnt find anywhere else the next day but didnt try too hard the girls i was with were happy dont get me wrong its spotless and very clean but just no fun could be had.there is better hostels in oaxaca and we found one on our last night. The place is ran by a couple and the man was sound and helpful and very friendly but cant say same for woman every time she saw us she jumped down our throats wanting money if we were going to stay its not really possible to sneak out of there the way its set up so i dont know what her problem.i was using the internet downstairs and went up to get a pen she ate the face off my friends saying id ran off without paying.she was just obsessed with money so we didnt book any tours with her or buy anything in their shop!
