It is a wonderful place if you want to learn about textile history. Not only from Mexico, but also from other regions in the world. Its very cheap for having a guide.

A small and lovely museum dedicated to one of the many wonders of Oaxaca, the textiles. The gift shop is charming and features sophisticated products. A must see.

It's hard to find, (Calle Hidalgo, but poorly marked) but definitely worth a stop if you're interested in indigenous textiles. Don't forget to go upstairs for the real story behind Oaxaca-area textiles.

I think the concept of this place is great, but it was hard for me with my poor Spanish to appreciate it very much. All the materials are in Spanish and though I made an attempt to translate, it was too much work. Very cool building, however, and nice museum shop.

Although this is a very small museum the textiles and clothes have been displayed very well.Good lighting and the hanging of the clothes was a very interesting idea.I would have liked to have seen more, but the quality of the existing ones is very good and I was impressed by the fineness of the woven ones.Up stairs was a very unique collection of modern wear with commputer lighting designs in the fabric. You could design something yourself and put it on the panel in a dress.Shades of Vernon Vinge, who writes SF and has predicted we may wear commputer screens on our clothes.Needless to say I was impressed by the old and new.It is also free.
