It really doesn't matter what you go to see, the theatre is that beautiful. We have been to all kinds of musical events - some good, some great. They also do HD of the NY Met opera - so lots of variety.

This building is known as the old opera house. One thinks of the fil Fritzcolodero(sp) . This elegant building sits in the colonial town saying this must have been a cry for culture. I noted that films from NYC Metroploitan Opera were being shown here. Great but I prefer to see a little experimental opera from Mexico City or the local performers Greater Tuna do Carols at the Christmas season

We were lucky enough to score (free) tickets to a classical performance at this theatre on our recent trip to Oaxaca. It has great acoustics. The theatre itself is really beautiful. It was a great evening!

The acoustics are terrific. Watching the simulcast performances of The Met in a box seat at the Teatro Macedonia de Alcala is an worthwhile experience

Was able to go and enjoy a beautiful dance perfoemance called the Catrina. It was really special. We purchased the most expensive tickets at 200 pesos our seats were unassigned but the area was close to the stage. They have balconies and boxes off to the sides. The small boxes looked so cool but we have a front on view. One of the highlights of the trip for sure!
