Owner description: One of Oaxaca's crowded main thoroughfares.
Reviewed July 17, 2012

This street which is closed to vehicles is lively throughout the day. There are many restaurants, handicraft stores, and street vendors. Oaxaca's best English bookstore (Amate Books) is on the left about 3 blooks up. Santo Domingo and the Museum of Oaxaca Cultures is directly up this street from the zocalo. At night it is the hangout of the town's teenagers.

Beautiful, clean, lots of street vendors with a variety of merchandise. Nice architecture and a great environment. As it's in the center, even if you try to miss it you won't!
