We arrived in Oaxaca in the evening and by the time we were looking for dinner it was almost 10pm. Understand that by that time of the evening we are usually thinking about bed, not dinner and that I get cranky when I am tired and hungry. Well, at Casa Oaxaca Restaurant it would be impossible to be cranky at any time of the day or night. The restaurant itself is quiet, simply decorated and with an enviable, understated elegance. Our waiter took our order, then came back with a giant, crisp, blue corn tortilla covered with queso fresco, then he asked if we preferred our salsa on a tomato or tomatillo base, we selected tomatillo, and he made the salsa at our table. It was wonderful. My husband had confit of goat which was tender, moist and wonderful. I had rack of lamb in a mole, the lamb was cooked to perfection and paired perfectly with the sauce. Our waiter was professional, attentive, but not intrusive. It was an unforgettable and wonderful experience, thank you
