“Excellent Food on a Oxaca”

Special Restaurant with cozy atmosphere. Food is excellent. All dishes we ordered were outstanding but service could have faster speed.

Recommended a must in Oaxaca

“Cool space and good food”
Reviewed December 24, 2013 via mobile

Place is very mod and it takes you a minute to realize it is all outside. Food is a modern take on Oaxaca cuisine so don't expect traditional style here, but it is really good. We had a raw tuna appetizer to die for. Big surprise was the selection of Mexican wines. We had a nice Mexican Viognier. Not cheap for Oaxaca but still cheaper than if this restaurant was in a big US City.

“Beautiful setting”
Reviewed December 15, 2013

After a pleasant lunch we saved Los Danzantes for our final dinner in Oaxaca City. The setting is beautiful and the service excellent. The price is a bit high, though. Unfortunately I had to send my arrachera back - it was terribly raw. Otherwise a great last dinner.

“Upscale experience without the price tag”
Reviewed December 11, 2013

Wednesdays and Fridays (I don't know if this is year round) they have a fixed menu between 1 and 5 pm. You can have it with or without a glass of wine. My husband and I choose to have it with wine. For 160 pesos each we had cucumber water, buns & fried tortillas, soup, manta ray (that's right - you won't have gotten me to order it off any menu) with an advocate sauce and rice, a fig filling in a tamale with chocolate sauce and a coffee. Oh and a shot of mescal. Everything was delicious, the service was excellent and well, I don't know how you could beat the price. We booked for Friday afternoon as we left.

“This is as good as reported, or better”
Reviewed December 3, 2013

This would be classed as "modern Mexican" and it is sensational. The restaurant itself is creatively designed with a raised bar/coffee area to the side, the main restaurant with well spaced tables, music at the perfect level, a folding sliding roof that allows for 'terrace' style or indoor dining at the touch of a button, and some quirky touches. The staff are very helpful (particularly Sergio) and attentive, and willing to offer suggestions about the food. The food was a class (or two) above what we've found elsewhere, with the duck tacos for starters absolutely perfect. The wine list is quite extensive for Mexico and only includes local wine, but there are now some seriously good Mexican wines available so that's not a problem. So good, we booked to come back again the following night.
