“Where different means great”

One of my favorites in my own town. Chef is always changing menu, bringing new experiences and surprises. Each course is a delight, always has been. Food is signature Mexican Cuisine do not expect the tacos from Taco Bell or enchiladas from a street cart. It isn't a sunny light up place in a middle of a garden with a terrace but in my opinion food and service make up for it all amazingly well. Sober, elegant minimalist but still very soothing ambiance.

“A modern journey to Mexican traditional food.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 24, 2013

A really good mix between traditional and modern cuisine. They have two options, a 5-dish a-la-carte menu where you can select from 5 different options per dish or an 8-dish menu where you will have a taste of the chefs best dishes. Great option during a visit to San Angel.

“Only for drinks”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 10, 2013

We came here but only for drinks. We wanted a tequilla tasting so we indulged in the flights of tequilla they had. They had that divided by anejo, reposado, and older tequillas. They had a delicious assortment. Never go back to Patron!

“Creative menu but execution needs work”

A very dark dining room with two levels. Menu a bit too adventurous. Desert bar in the dining room came up with good deserts. Good wine selection. May go back .service was good.

“Extraordnary, probably one of the best in Mexico City”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 8, 2013

I went back to Paxia and it is getting better and better. I had the "Menu desgutacion", and it was simply extraordinary. Every dish was a surprise and a pleasure. I especially liked the bone marrow, the "pavo with mole" (which includes an awesome surprise which was one of the strangest culinary experiences), and the "sorullo" dessert. Really unique, original and world-class quality throughout. The service was impeccable, the sommelier was very knowledgeable. It is expensive, but the value for money is very good. For a whole Mexican experience, go to "Bazaar del Sabado" (only saturdays) in San Angel, looks at the beautiful handcrafts, maybe buy something nice, and then walk for lunch to Paxia (in Ave de la Paz, across Ave Revolucion).
