Booked the Penthouse after reading the great reviews on Trip Advisor. The penthouse is a small apartment with kitchenette and a terrace the faces the street with an attached 1BD/1BA "casita." The place was so warm, comfortable and QUIET. Went with my partner and another friend. The Penthouse comes well equipped with fridge, small stove top, dishes/flatware/glasses, sofas and dining table, TVs in the bedrooms, stereo with plenty of "chill" CDs, and is beautifully decorated. Lots of windows allow nice cross breeze. There's even a gas fireplace in the main bedroom for the chilly nights.

We all could not say enough good things about the Red Tree House, Jorge and Ernesto, their staff, the service, the friendliness of the other guests, the incredible breakfasts, Abril, the Golden Retriever.

It truly was a quiet, relaxing Oasis in the big city. We had brought ear plugs for noise just in case, but the area is actually very quiet after dark and we never used them. Breakfast was delicious, consisting of fresh fruit, cereals, yogurts, various breads and pastries, juices, coffee and a delicious Mexican breakfast specialty each day. The guys are very helpful with recommendations and assistance.

Favorite restaurant was: Litoral, on Nuevo Leon

My husband and I stayed here just over a week in April 2010. Our trip was part vacation and part conference. The staff at Red Tree House helped us navigate conference locations, pressed our suits, and were all around wonderful to us during the conference days. The vacation part of our stay was wonderful as well and I would recommend this B and B to both business and vacation travelers. Located in lovely and safe Condesa with a fantastic staff, and gorgeous rooms, we will never stay anywhere else. Jorge and his staff surpassed all expectations of excellent service. Breakfast each morning is delicious and portions are large enough to have a light lunch late in the day. The rooms are lovely with modern, clean baths.

Believe the other reviews: This may well be the friendliest, best run, most beautiful, reasonably priced, unpretentious, comfortably appointed boutique hotel/B&B in Mexico. It doesn't even feel like you're staying in a hotel. My wife, 19-year-old son and I stayed in the penthouse suite for a week, and felt like we were staying with old friends who just happened to have the loveliest house in the hippest neighborhood in town. I heartily echo what all the other reviewers have to say about the beauty of the art and furnishings, the deliciousness of the breakfasts, the fun of mingling with other guests for nightly happy hours in the courtyard, the vibrancy and safety of the surrounding neighborhood, and, of course, the charm of Abril, The Red Tree House's lovable, well-mannered golden retriever.

But what truly sets this place apart is the warmth and professionalism of the staff, who provide the kind of personal service you typically only find in hotels charging three times as much. Jorge and his team go way out of their way to take care of guests. (Ernesto may be the best concierge we've ever had the pleasure of knowing.) Their restaurant, museum, sightseeing and shopping tips are right on the money. And the cleaning staff keep the place immaculate. You could literally eat off the floors.

I could go on and on, but really - just book a room here. It will be the best decision you make your entire trip. We plan on returning soon.

Like most people we were a little dubious about mexico city and expecting a stressful experience. Jorge, Ernesto and all the team at the Red Tree House could not have done more to help us. From helping us get to and from the airport, where to go for dinner, everything. Nothing was a problem.
Then, there is the hotel itself. It's more like staying with a well of friend in their palatial house. Breakfast is communal which was great, we met some interesting people. The rooms are quiet, beautiful, spotless and the whole place as a calm and relaxing atmosphere. It was fantastic. We were sad to leave it really is unique. The area is also lovely and we walked everywhere. Definitely stay here.

Jorge & Ernesto were superb hosts for our first trip to Mexico City! We had difficulty adjusting to the climate and heat our first night there and the staff went above and beyond to assist us in becoming more comfortable! The breakfast was always tremendous we were always offered cool drinks when we returned from a hot day of sight-seeing. This B&B is a great deal and is located in a very nice area of town with a wide variety of restaurants and businesses within walking distance. Located in Condesa I found that it was helpful to carry a map with me so I could point out the location of the B&B to the taxi drivers as many of them were not familiar with the circular streets of the neighborhood.

We found our stay romantic and the place enchanting! The owners are constantly improving the place - though it is hard to imagine how it could be improved upon! The decor was simple but elegant with many beautiful touches of art, fresh flowers, and ample greenery in the courtyard. In the midst of the largest city in the world the Red Tree House was quiet, restful and a welcome haven!

I stayed at the Red Tree House with my partner for three days in March. It was the best hotel experience we have ever had traveling together. It has encouraged us to look for hotels that are as intimate and charming as RTH when we travel in the future.
