I could spend all day writing great things about this place. Read all the other reviews, it's all true. All of it.

First class hospitality in an amazing, comfy, modern, homely, friendly place.

staff are all cool, very friendly down to earth and helpful. Grand piano's a nice touch too. Oh and the dog abril... Cool mutt.

Will def go back.

There simply are not enough superlatives in the language to describe the happy feeling of hospitality and friendship that guests receive at the Red Tree House. The owners Jorge and Craig have put their hearts into making a comfort place where everyone is made to feel welcome and well cared for. Each of the staff at the RTH is eager to assist with anything from making restaurant reservations to offering advice on how to use the Metro. Breakfasts consist of continental fare and a daily hot item prepared with Mexican flare. It is a good start to the day. The lovely dog Abril is a favourite with guests and especially children. Those who miss their own dogs often opt for walking Abril. The tree lined parks in the Condessa area are wonderful too.

The RTH is located in Condessa, a lovely community with lots of parks, museums and terrific restaurants. The Metro is only about 5 blocks from the B&B and it is easy to use, inexpensive and very efficient.

Mexico City is delightful for those who love culture. From the Rivera murals (a must) in public buildings, to the archeology, museums and art galleries, there are lots of activities to choose from. On Sundays the museums are free to Mexican nationals and some to out of town visitors.

We took two excursions from the RTH, One day we went to explore the pyramids of Teotihuacán and the other to Xochimilco, the area of the canals. We hired Victor (RTH) to be our guide and driver. His passion for and knowledge of his beloved Mexico City was entertaining and made the days out fun and interesting. If you opt to go the pyramids it would be good to visit the fabulous Anthropology Museum on Reforma first and get a get a very good introduction to the history and cultural evolution of the archaeological site.

Like so many other guests of the RTH we look forward to returning often.

I would not hesitate in recommending the Red Tree House to anyone who is considering a stay in Mexico City. The RTH team were absolutely fantastic: friendly, helpful and always welcoming. The daily home cooked Mexican breakfast were a real treat. It was not just be a place to stay, but a home away from home.

I'm about to repeat what has been said almost 500 times here already: this place is amazing. These reviews go beyond the comfort of the rooms and to the heart of what The Red Tree House is about - being a home away from home, only better. Why?
: it is situated in the lovely, leafy suburb Condesa, with easy access to the metro bus, trains, walking paths, cafes, restaurants.
: the rooms are so comfortable, blankets nicely poompfy and there is plenty of drawer space.
: the breakfast is awesome. Awesome.
: the guys working there are fabulous. Without fail someone is popping out to say hello whenever you leave or arrive, and to offer you a mezcal or a glass of wine after 7 each night.
: non-stop concierge - sure, you are likely not to go out in your pyjamas to chat with the guys at 3am about your plans, but they are there and interested to help, any time.
: if you are there over the holidays they will look after you. It's your home away from home, remember, and you have family at The Red Tree House.

Thank you so much Alex & Luis xox

Top-end B&B right in the heart of Condesa, one of the nicest neighborhoods in Mexico City.
Nice and quiet rooms on the courtyard.
Excellent service - you're pampered throughout your stay.
Outstanding breakfast.

Room Tip: Lafayette room is a perfect option for a longer stay, with separate kitchen, eating and sitting area...

We loved our 4 days here after a month in San Miguel. The staff were fabulous and so helpful with restaurant suggestions and advice on transportation as well as reservations. The location could not be better. The complimentary cocktails are a wonderful way to exchange travel finds with the guests and are such fun. Forget all the negative information you have heard about Mexico City it is a thriving exciting place. We have already booked next year for four days in March and have booked a garden room.

RTH in Mexico is the best B&B ever. I have stayed in many across the USA and NEVER been more pampered than my brief stay at RTH. Arrived late on a flight from the East Coast and was met with a smile and an offer of wine. Boy, I knew it was startuing off great. The room was wonderful, comfortable and homey. WIFI great for checking emails. Location near to a metro stop aslo was great. The breakfast (don't forget the 2nd B) was fabulous with a large selection of items and alwasy a hot Mexican dish as well. Return here? in a minute!
