Food is great... sometimes services is a little slow. Reservations are a must as it´s such a small restaurant. No valet parking.

This small bistro is situated in a great area. This restaurants makes you feel like if you were in Paris. The atmosphere is so french that even the service is a bit rough. The food is great for a reasonable price.
If you like to have some drinks the bar prices are very reasonable.

LOVE these guys - all of them, especially Dominique (and no, he doesn't dress like a vagrant). I used to live in Colonia Cuauhtemoc, and this place was my default neighborhood bar and perfect place to grab a bite. I went as many times by myself as I did with friends, and was always comfortable, even as a woman alone, which is rare in Mexico City.

The carne a las 4 pimientas is something I still crave (perfectly prepared, creamy and peppery), along with any of the tarts and the wonderful salads. I'm thrilled that things are going so well for them and wish I could still drop by on an almost daily basis.

And yes, I'm an English speaker but fluent in Spanish, and the owners and staff were never rude to me because I speak English. In fact, as Thomas mentioned in another reply - some of the oldest customers of the Bistro are from England, South Africa, Scotland, and the US.

Go - enjoy the wonderful food and drinks!

I totally love this place, it's my favorite restaurant since 3 years ago... Though I gotta say the service it's a little odd... Pourtant there's a blonde french guy who is totally nice and probably the nicest guy there (don't really remember his name, but he speaks little spanish).

Today (June 10th 2011) I am trying to call to make a reservation for tomorrow, BUT the phone doesn't work!!! What am I supposed to do when they only "treat right" the ppl with reservations... There should be like an alternative phone or something...

I´ve been living in Mexico City for 4 yrs and El Arlequin was the first restaurant i ever visited (i live in the same nighborhood)..... after all these four years i have visited many types of restaurants all over the city and i have to say that el arlequin has always been my favorite place... it has a cozy vibe, that you enjoy so much having good food and wine with your friends.... not as pretencious and expensive as other french resturants in Mexico city but definitely the best one... i always bring friends that are not from Mexico or mexico city and they all love it... definitely a hidden gem....
