We walked past El Cardenal several times whilst we stayed round the corner in Mexico city. Eventually visiting with our friend on the last day.

Food was delicious! We loved the stuffed peppers. Staff were very friendly and food was served quickly. We'd love to return (hopefully in the not so distant future)

This is one of the best restaurants in Mexico City because everything is done in the kitchen(high quality mexican food) , in the morning you can smell the bread , everything is fresh and the service is very good, but as it is very famous there are looong waiting lines. It is better to make a reservation one day before or if it is a weekend try to arrive before 9:00 or you will be in line for more than an hour. Don´t miss hot chocolate and sweet bread, delicious!! There are two restaurants, both are equally good.

This is a great restaurant where you can find authentic mexican cuisine.
The size of the portions are just right, the flavor is just magnificent.
the attention is one of the best in the restaurants. there are live violins and piano players.
you MUST try the hot chocolate.

Even you could have breakfast or dinner at several restaurant location's, I recommend the most to go earlier, make the line while get by the house home made bread and coffee.
Speciallty is all that Mexican food that is not so common get at regular restaurants like Pancita, Verdolagas or others. Also have to taste "pan dulce" which is tradicional mexican bakery, delicius at this place. Prices and portions are not so big but take care of eat more than one dish...willl get some adicional weight!!

Mexican and International cuisine, quality, care, and good taste. They have their own bakery, Ask for "conchas con nata", you will love them!
