“Restaurant is closed, and there is no message on website or when calling the restaurant”
Reviewed January 1, 2013

Having had an excellent meal here on a previous trip, we were disappointed to see that the restaurant is closed, in fact the space is under a complete renovation as of December 31st 2012. We were frustrated that their website provided no indication they were closed (even if only for remodeling), and when we called the restaurant, we also got no message indicating they were closed - pretty frustrating.

“Best Mexican seafood in DF”
Reviewed December 21, 2012

If you only have one day in DF go to Contramar and enjoy the best seafood that the City can offer. Great environment and food - tostadas de atun mmmmm - make sure to order the fig dessert from the beginning.

“Popular seafood spot in Mexico City”
Reviewed November 24, 2012

The food here is excellent! Everything is wonderful, but if there is one dish you must have . . . make that two . . it's the shrimp tacos and the tostadas with sushi grade tuna and avocado. I had a grilled salmon which was incredible. I'll definitely go back again. Be aware that this place is very busy, so reservations are recommended.

“Great food and atmosphere”
Reviewed November 24, 2012

A slightly chequered start. We don't speak Spanish and we thought the 'specials menu' was on the wall board. It turned out to be 'poem of the month'

We loved the relaxed atmosphere and the seafood was excellent (marinated tuna & octopus). Equally scrummy were the deserts.

Worth tracking down and spending an evening there.

“Fresh seafood”
Reviewed November 21, 2012

Since I know the menu very well, I almost always order the same plates. Tostadas de atun are really great, pescado a la talla excellent. When it's full ,like on weekends, the service is a bit slower, but still it's great service. It's a trendy spot so sometimes it's hard to get in after 3 pm on weekends. People and atmosphere is really fun and friendly.
