i have been going to la gloria since '97 when i first visited mexico city...i really used to love this place! not that much has changed in the restaurant. it seems that the decor is the same, with the same informal service and vibe which is great. what has changed drastically is the cost for visiting la gloria. oh well, instead of visiting every week, maybe now every few months..........

The last time we visited in 1997 was okish; we went back in 2011 and the place is exactly the same. A bit juvenile, 'wanna be bohemian' and very '90s. Probably we have outgrown that type of places (we are in our late 30's)

Cozy, informal restaurant in the heart of Condesa. The wait staff were very friendly and attentive. The waitress spoke just enough English, and with my tiny Spanish, everything went smoothly. Her recommendations were excellent. Seared/raw tuna to start. Just the right size for an appetizer, with an herb mayo sauce. Delicious. For main a special of baked cannelloni stuffed with shrimp, with a cheese sauce. Also very delicious. Had a cabernet that was quite good. Finished with a fine, rich espresso. The price was a bit higher than some other places, but the value was excellent, and by US standards a great bargain. Save room for dessert, there's a good pastry shop right next door.

We enjoyed several meals here during our stay in D.F. Has a few vegetarian options, vegans will have to do with an appetizer and/or salad. The pappardelle with pesto and pine nuts was fragrant and perfectly cooked, and the linguini funghi was rich and filling. The mushroom appetizer served with a mole salsa is fantastic. They have a decent selection of wines and a variety of cocktails. The service is usually good, but sometimes slow if it gets crowded. The atmosphere reminded me of a candle-lit French bistro, and there's rotating art on the walls.

its a simple menu, most food is good, although nothing gourmet. The place is nice and it has a good environment if you want to meet up with friends for dinner or drinks.
