“Nothing fancy, but plenty of hearty vegetarian food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 4, 2012

This place is nothing to look at, but great for inexpensive vegetarian/vegan versions of traditional Mexican food. My favorite was the hearty Pastel Azteca (sin queso), a dish of corn tortillas layered with vegetables and flor de calabaza (squash flower) with salsa, served with black beans. They also have fresh juices and smoothies, as well as baked goods available. There's a buffet during certain hours every day, and the service is friendly and usually pretty fast.

“Delicious Taquitos al Pastor”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 15, 2011

I always love places where I can get food that resembles the food of the area without the meat. I read that this place has a good tofu burger, but I wasn't interested in something that I could get possibly anywhere.

I went for the taquitos al pastor. SO good. And they didn't try to make this overly healthy - the oils were definitely dripping.

Also had the azteca sopa - tortilla soup. All in all it was delicious.

“One of the best places to get Veggie food in mexico city.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 12, 2011

As vegetarians, we like to go to the vegetarian restaurants when in a city, and thus we arrived at Yug. Along La Reforma, its further away from the Historical Centre than many would hope for, and those would probably opt for the more local ones.

The food is very good and on par with most restaurants in the area, but what makes it better is that its vegetarian! Those looking for a fancy eatery should possibly avoid it as its in a very simple style, using basic tables and chairs. The food is all cooked freshly, and can take quite a while to arrive, but dont worry as it will be good!
There are a choice of organic beers and sodas to go with your meal too.

Its only beaten by Vegetaco in Coyoacan as the best vegetarian restaurant in this part of Mexico (personally)

“Good place to enjoy vegetarian food”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 19, 2011

Within an old fashion style restaurant, you can enjoy good quality food at a reasonable price. Be aware that is a vegetarian restaurant when you ask for your meat.
