“The BEST pozole in the city”
Reviewed May 18, 2012

This is not the best looking place, but that doesn't matter once you try the pozole. EXCELLENT. Waiters are fast-moving, so your pozole will arrive fast and really hot. Last time I was there, they didn´t accept credit cards, so make sure you take cash with you.

“Scared when entered but very satisfied when left”
Reviewed May 11, 2012

It was my first experience with Mexican cuisine and actually it was also the first time (and the only time) when I visited real Mexican restaurant. When we entered I was pretty shocked by watching the "train-station style" restaurant (I mean the restaurants with plastic/iron tables/chairs which you can find at the central European train-stations) but then I thought "Why not, probably this is how restaurants look like in Mexico!" (it was very similar to a Columbian one I visited in Barcelona last year) Some girls left but we persuaded them to come back and have dinner in La Casa de Tono! And now I must tell it was a good choice, as the food was very good, even if I would prefer much less oil. The menu is printed directly at the table which I find pretty cool. Try the red beer with sugar and chili at the edge of your glass!

“Authentic Mexican fare”
Reviewed May 7, 2012

The food was great, very affordable and the restaurant is obviously good as there was a bit of a wait and it was full of Mexicans! The waiters are connected to front house and kitchen staff by way of ear pieces and it all runs very efficiently and the service is quick.
