“Truly amazing - as good as the hype”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 13, 2013

Pujol lives up to the hype. It is that good. I tend to eat mostly at Michelin rated restaurants and this one is definitely worth a visit. For me, besides amazing food and truly amazing cocktails, the best things were the simplicity of the staff and complete lack of attitude. I found the place to be basically understated with friendly, helpful staff.

The food was fresh, inventive and had flavors that I have not experienced before. How often can you say that?

Also, because the USD is still very strong, I found this to be a good value. Eating at a similar location in New York, London or Paris would be minimum 50% more expensive.

“The food is awesome”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 12, 2013

Great food. Gourmet Mexican. The chef "plays" with the flavors that define Mexico. Expect a vast amount of small servings that takes you through different tastes and textures. Service was perfect.

“Good Food but Hardly the Best in Mexico”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 10, 2013

There's nothing wrong with Pujol. In fact the food was very good with clean flavors and imaginative combinations but I've had better in NY AND in Mexico City. Considering that Pujol was voted one of the world's top restaurants, I was sorely disappointed.

It was refined Mexican that tasted more like French than Mexican food. Prices were reasonable. They had a great wine and beer menu. But once again, I've had much better meals in Mexico City

“Outstanding New Mexican Cuisine”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 9, 2013

I have just had an excellent lunch at Pujol. I went alone as I am happy to do when I want to try the food at a serious restaurant. Like many restaurants of this quality not all of the dishes are equally captivating - but the best five were literally to die for. This is world class food at a very very good price. And I found the organisation and service quite superior.
Those of us who love the cuisine of Mexico - and I have since I first lived in Mexico thirty years ago -- will still enjoy the classic dishes done in the traditional way but so we should applaud the new directions of a new generation of great Mexican chefs. Pujol certainly deserves its ranking among the best 50 restaurants in the world. Long may it be so. Jeff Hart

“a culinary firework”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 7, 2013

The restaurant's minimalist interiors, the service, the dishes, the music, just everything seems to be perfectly aimed towards its protagonist: food.

A captivating twist on the traditional Mexican cuisine, executed with creativity and intelligence. It is genius. Each bite felt like a celebration of Mexican flavors.

Every course was a firework in my mouth.
