Having known little about street art or graffiti, this tour provided an incredible insight into the immense artistic culture of mexico that exists outside the galleries. Our guide Emlo introduced us to the various styles of graffiti, but the tour wasn't confined just to street art, we also had the opportunity to view small collective-style galleries which we normally wouldn't have found. Emlo also explained the cultural significance of some of the street art and the art displayed in the galleries. overall it allowed us an avenue in which to understand the complex political and cultural struggles experienced in contemporary Mexico. A highlight for us was the opportunity to do our own graffiti with tools privded by Emlo. We absolutely loved it, and it worked as a great introduction to enrich our experience as a whole!

So glad we had the chance to open up an alternative version of Mexico City for you! It was a pleasure for us too!
Emlo has both a lot of insider and underground knowledge of the local graffiti scene, as well as formal training in Art History so he provides a very unique perspective on the city and where it sits in the world.
We are both super happy to hear it was a special day for you. Please don't forget your newly acquired spray skills...Use it or lose it baby! ;)

Sending you our best,
Laura - Stylewalk MX

We had arrived in Mexico City the day before we did this walking tour of Roma Norte with our guide, Catherine. We found the tour very informative, interesting, not overlong, personal and most importantly for us we felt relaxed in our new neighbourhood. Catherine showed us some hidden gems of Roma Norte and shared with us some of her favourite little nooks and unusual tiny shops which were perfect for our taste.
Rain and thunderstorms were forecast for later which impressed us very much that Catherine had bought umbrellas for us to use.
Ending the tour with a tasty cocktail in a super stylish place that had a great vibe just rounded off a superb 3 hours (even with wet feet!!)

I was so impressed that you chose to do a 'formal' tour to get to know your new neighbourhood. What a great way to fast-track to easy-living in a new environment - so smart, so simple!
The best thing is now that you know how cool Catherine's version of La Roma is, I am sure you are feeling more confident about exploring it your own and really digging deep into what's on offer.

We LOVE La Roma, so we're happy to spread the good vibes! Welcome to the hood!

Kind regards,

I recently took a small group to Mexico on an art and culture tour. When we arrived in Mexico City, I booked a guided walk hosted by a wonderful New Zealand lady called Laura, who runs the company Stylewalk. We chose the very interesting Hipster Walk around the La Roma area. Prior to the walk, Laura sent out a digital form to ascertain the groups varied interests. So I am happy to say at the end of a very interesting and informative morning with Laura, everyone's interests were met. She is a very engaging and vivacious women, with a great deal of local knowledge. She really brings this area, that she clearly loves, to life! Thank you Laura.

It was a pleasure to provide your first day on the ground in Mexico City! It is not easy arriving during the flurry of the Day of the Dead, so I was glad to be of assistance.
This was a really interesting group of well-travelled art lovers, whose personal interests spanned galleries, vintage, architecture, food and jewellery.
It really means alot to me to have overseas guests get a good experience of this amazing but complex city. We try our best to make touchdown as fun and as smooth as possible!

Look forward to seeing you the next time you come to visit!

Kind regards,
Laura

This afternoon with the gorgeous Catherine really made my Mexico City trip fantastic!
We not only walked La Roma, and saw amazing places, we talked all about Mexico City, and what it's like to live there. It was very interesting.
Catherine has a thorough knowledge of this cool area and everyone we met at little boutiques, galleries, cafes and shops on our walk showed their affection for her.
She has a real knowledge and love of this neighbourhood.
I recommend this tour for lots of reasons, but for me, it was so good to be introduced to a trendy, sophisticated, arty area of a very busy city by such a pleasant person.

A big part of having a private tour is that there is time to chat and to be curious about absolutely any and everything! We love for our visitors to really get inside life in Mexico City from a personal perspective. Catherine is well-loved in La Roma and her contacts here bring to life the chic, local-but-cosmopolitan, neighbourhood that it is.

I am delighted to hear you had a fabulous day together!

Kind regards,
Laura

Laura was brilliant at understanding what we liked and customising recommendations for our tours.
The highlights for us were meeting Claudio & the Street Art tour, as well as wondering around the La Roma area taking in the architecture, galleries, coffee stop, street art and shopping.

Happy to host you! I really love to hear what interests our guests before they come on tour so we can get it right on the day. Time when travelling is so precious!!

The Street Art Tour and the La Roma tour are very different, both in terms of location and things to see and do, so I am glad you decided to do both. Both are arty and fill you in contemporary Mexican life, but nonetheless offer very distinct perspectives of the city !

We hope to see you back again in Mexico City soon!

Kind regards,
Laura
