“Great host and staff, great location, very good experience in Mexico City”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 5, 2012

We stayed six days in Mexico City, all at this property. Aside from the only room they had available, which was small and airless, (but didn't matter much, because we were out all day) with a squeaky bed, our experience was great. Very pleasant place, arranged in good taste, delicious a la carte breakfast, prepared by a great and very friendly cook on the premises. We met very nice people there, from all over the world, mainly at breakfast time, all happy to be there. Owner and staff get out of their way to help every guest with their travel needs and questions, and they are really kind and knowledgeable.

Room Tip: Ask beforehand for a room which is well lit and ventilated. They'll help you.

Stayed here a couple of nights as our first choice place was booked out. Location is great. We had a large room overlooking the street and it had a lot of character, as does the whole place, with neat old furnishings, and interesting art work. Breakfast each day was good and set us up for the day. All the staff were extremely helpful also. We would be most happy to stay again.

Overall it's a wonderful experience staying at Casa Comtesse. Leticia and Thomas are friendly, efficient and attentive. The cheaper room that we had on our first visit was very small and basic but the service, breakfast and atmosphere more than made up for that. We returned for another stay, this time spending a little more on a larger and very beautiful room. The building itself is interesting and nicely styled. The location is great - safe and interesting - with plenty of choices for eating/drinking. It's such a pleasure being at Casa Comtesse.

Room Tip: A couple of the very cheap rooms are very small, basic and in need of a renovation. You will get wh...

We spent 3 nights in Casa Comtesse and I only have good words for the service, the facilities and the location. It is very close to the tube station, the breakfast is more than perfect (especially on Sundays), the room was clean & comfortable and the staff very accommodating.

The first day we arrived in Mexico City there was a power cut and the very very kind Leticia waited for us in the front of the hotel with a flashlight and then took really good care of us for the next days.

I would definitely recommend it!

my first, and i know it wont be my last if i can help it, visit to mexico city in feb '11 - wanted to stay in a homey environment with typical local breakfast and lovely walking neighborhood crammed with restaurants, art galleries, boutiques, parks and gorgeous homes - i got it all - casa is run by a french expat to mexico city and is very well managed with a superb, friendly and 'make u feel at home' kind of staff - rooms are what u pay for, adequate (i don't mind if floors creak), the bathroom is clean (ditto) and has everything u might need, the dining and living rooms are tastefully furnished (see pics) - my stay, although short (4 nights), was very comfortable and relaxing from the frenetic pace of the city

note: tripadvisor had a size limitation on pics so mine could not be published - grow up trip advisor

We've just finished our 5-week Mexico tour, of which the first week and the last day were spent in Mexico City, having Casa Comtesse as our host.
More than a perfect first impression, they introduced us to many aspects of Mexican life.
We came to love this place for its friendly, stylish and utterly professional way.
When we returned from the tour to spend our last night in Mexico City before returning home, Casa Contesse was almost like being at home. When we needed help to find an emergency room, they were there for us, spending the better part of the evening with us to help at the hospital.
A warm Thank You, Thomas. Hope to be able to repay you some day.

Room Tip: The only room we know is the Oriente: sunny, large, great bed and bathroom.
