“"Private Viewing" of large Diego Rivera Collection”
Reviewed February 7, 2014

No crowds. Although only a few blocks from the Palacio National, Temple Mayor and the Cathedral, the huge courtyard of the Public Education Ministry was empty except for one or two employees going to their offices and dozens of exceptional murals.

“Already planning to go back again!”
Reviewed February 4, 2014

I had seen the high rating these murals had on TripAdvisor and marked them as a "maybe". I have always been more about Frida than Diego. On a recent trip, I was near there (they aren't far from the Zocalo) so I decided to go inside and view the murals. WOW WOW WOW. First of all there are so many and they are all amazing. Mesmerizing. Diego's style and color palette were just so unique. I find myself thinking about these images a lot. Every image makes a statement about Mexico and the world at the time he created them. Leave time to stroll all three floors of the building and enjoy! entrance is free but you go through a security check and sign in to enter.

“Amazing murals”
Reviewed January 21, 2014

Though we were turned down on our first try (some type of event was happening), we were able to tour the building (free!) and marvel at the murals. We were overwhelmed at the amount of wall space covered by Diego Rivera's work -- my husband kept commenting, "How many years did this take him?!"

“Impressive - even if you are not into arts”
Reviewed January 17, 2014

We went to see the murals because they were rated as one of the must-see things in the city. We had to go through a security check point and sign in before we were allowed to enter the court yards. The entrance is free. It would have helped to have more explanations than what our travel guide offered. We felt we should have been better prepared for this. Many paintings seem to have been politically motivated glorifying the workers world. Others showed local folklore. The murals are very impressive especially in the setting under the arcades and even without background knowledge this is well worth a visit.
