“The best of Europe in central Mexico City”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 2, 2013

The Postal or Correos Building in the center of Mexico City is one the most impressive pieces of architecture in the world. The elaborate craftsmanship of it building equals that of any in Florence and the inside remind you of Peter the Greats Gold Palace in St. Petersburg.

In the middle of awe and wonder you can still send a post card back home.

Kitty corner from Bellas Artes......like stepping into the 1880s.....a great place to send mail, packages, etc. and pick up stamps.

“You must visit”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 14, 2013

This building (the Mexican mail) is a gem, the staircase railings are beautiful, and the facade is imposing. I definitely recommend spending here at least half an hour on your way to el Museo Nacional, other museums in the "Centro Historico", and El Zocalo.

“Great Architecture and the tour explains a lot ...”

When people visit me I take them here.

The tour explains a lot about this stunning piece of architecture and it is always nice for a stop.

“A Trip Back in Time”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 11, 2013

Almost unreal to think that a post office could be so decadent. The overall architecture and the details make this place. Just can't imagine how many hours or planning and construction went into making it. Truly a national treasure.

Besides the building itself, there's an exhibit on the history or the postal service in Mexico (Spanish only). Quite interesting to see the old post boxes and mailboxes. Nice to see that's it's still being used.
