“Old building handles modern day post”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 17, 2013

This an ornate, steel dominated building, made even more interesting because it is a working post office and has been since 1907. The staircase dominates as two separate parts seem to overcome gravity and meet in the middle to form a landing and then go off in a different direction. This is just a stroll among the locals who are there trying to buy their stamps, while looking at the detail of the building around them. Excellent that this old style architecture can still meet todays modern postal needs.

“Post Office”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 12, 2013

The place is grand but sad to say , there were 2 lifts in the building but use of it is limited to employees only so we did not bother going up the stairs . We took pictures of the stairs and thats it !

“Take a 5-minute walk-though”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 8, 2013

On your way from Bellas Artes to downtown, walk through the Post Office building. It was designed by the same architect as Bellas Artes, but in the Gothic Revival style. It doesn't take long to see it, but it's well worth the extra block of walking. (Plus, you'll exit right out to the National Museum of Art and the restaurant Girasoles.)

“A must see while in downtown Mexico City!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 8, 2013

This particular building right next to the Alameda Central Park and the Palacio de las Bellas Artes is a awesome place to visit. Build to be the mail Post Office and continues to carry on some of its duties. The architecture is just beautiful, the old school selling posts and all the iron work.
You will find a small museum from Postal memorabilia and on the top floor of the building which is reached by a open and beautiful elevator you will find a very nice exhibition presented by Mexico's Navy. So you get to see plenty of interesting things in one single place, that is a work of art on its own.
Enjoy!
