For a couple, you could not do better in the Hotel San Diego or many other budget hotels around the center of town, but you would only pay 150 pesos more and have your own room with private bath and a real breakfast.

The breakfast was not fair. Mexico is known for its food and this place did no justice to this. The scrambled eggs had more milk than eggs. The toast was cold and soggy. The pineapple was not ripe, but the orange juice was fresh and yummy. Coffee was so watered down I can not explain why.....

This hotel does have one of the best locations, right next to the Zocolo, almost on top of it. They make you wear arm bands, quite annoying.

The bathroom sinks do not have hot water and its hard to shave.

This was my first time travelling alone and this hostel ticked every box for me. A big, very sociable hostel and is great especially if your looking to meet more people. Staff really friendly and made such an effort to meet backpackers needs and were great at organising walking tours and holding BBQ's on the rooftop etc. Location is perfect in terms of accessing other parts of the city by foot/bus/ metro and always given great advice for places to visit. Rooms are clean, safe and breakfast is great! All in all, a fantastic experience here and I will recommend this hostel to anyone I know who visits the city...

Room Tip: room 405 was quiet for me

This hostel is in a great location, everyone is very nice and helpful, the food's great, the view's great, it's clean, it's comfortable, and it's secure. If you go into it knowing it will be noisy most of the night (we were usually awakened off and on until 4am), you'll probably be fine. If I hadn't known ahead of time by reading others' reviews, I would have been irritated. Regardless of the noise, we had a fantastic stay and would stay here again!

Room Tip: The King Terrace Suite is great, but it is right next to the open kitchen, and shares the terrace with the kitchen (separated just by some potted plants), so this room might be a little noisier than others.

I really enjoyed my time at Mundo Joven. I couldn´t say a bad word about the hostel, all of the staff were really friendly, there was great security, never felt like I wasn´t looked after. The hostel offers fun activities during the day and at night, and they were free. From tours to the market, to making guacamoli. To sum the hostel up in just a few words it would be great location, great people, great vibe = great hostel.

I first stayed in '09 with two friends. The hostel was in a great location! We could see and hear the bells from Metropolitan Cathedral. Presidential office and court rooms? in front, also. The metro station was a block away. Restaurants and stores were all walking distance, as soon as you step outside. Not to mention soldiers at every corner which gave me a sense of security.

The Hostel was clean, the staff AMAZINGLY helpful, not to mention the bar on the rooftop! They have a restaurant on the ground floor with live band. The rooms are your basic hostel bunk beds. The price was $11usd a night which was awesome. Definitely the best hostel I had stayed.

I revisited again in the summer of 2012. My only complaint was the staff. They seemed so uninterested in helping you. Ex. We were checking in and they kept talking to each other until I loudly and rudely called their attention.
Overall, I would still recommend this place.
