“Good food and comparable to Lima”
Reviewed October 7, 2012

I have visited Osaka twice and have not been disappointed. The food is really good and the chef was kind enough to make a dish that they have in other locations in other cities but not in Mexico City. I highly recommend and I plan to go back when I visit the city again.

“Great addition to the scene”
Reviewed August 31, 2012

This is part of a group that has exceptionally popular Osaka restaurants in Lima, Santiago and elsewhere. The buzz has not been as loud for some reason in Mexico. In those other cities, the restaurant is located inside the W Hotel. In Mexico City, it is on the main Presidente Masaryk Avenue nearly at the corner of Arquimedes, very convenient.

I have gone twice in the past month and liked it a lot. Very fresh fish, great sushi and sashimi and tiraditos and ceviche. I love the cold stuff. The hot side of the menu (servers suggest ordering a cold appetizer and hot entree) is creative and very good. As tables tend to share, I have not found any plate disappointing. Desserts are also surprisingly good and I normally skip them.

Location is very attractive with a very nice floor to ceiling wooden sculpture of a tree inside and a nice enclosed terrace outside. The service has been terrific and both times I had a waiter that knew the menu inside out and strived to please, but also had a pleasant, casual approach that works better at this type of place than Mexico's usual formal and more stiff interaction. Great service from Eduardo.

Overally, great food, pretty atmosphere, nice place, terrific service. Also a lot healthier than many other places. Definitely worth trying.

This is the same place as an Osaka restaurant shown on Tripadvisor as being in Ciudad Neza (not a great part of town). TA Monitors need to fix that and move that review here.

“An un planned lunch - Peruvian / East Asian style.”
Reviewed July 16, 2012

We had been cycling in the city centre and decided to have lunch with a friend who lives in Polanco. The choice of ceviches, spicy shrimp, and salads made excellent shared starters to pick at. The main courses were tasty and light , the grilled squid was soft and not over cooked to the rubbery stage, the hot savoury shrimps were spicy and accompanied by shitaki mushrooms with onions, the tuna was cubed coated in sesame seeds and lightly grilled. To accompany we had rices and yucca cubes.
Service was prompt. A very enjoyable lunch.
