“A splurge. Breafast with good pastries and hot chocolate”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 27, 2013

We visited the latest location in San Angel. Good fresh made pastries and hot-chocolate. An expensive choice for breakfast, when we went there, go early to avoid the wait. Elegant interior, bustles with groups having breakfast. Can not say regarding lunch or dinner, however the service was first-rate. A splurge

“delicious, but pricey”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 19, 2013

El Cardenal is rated as one of MXC's top restaurants for a reason: uniformly perfect execution of Mexican classics, not with a twist, but with an air of distinction. That being said, you pay every penny for this delicious treat so save it for a special occasion.

“traditional meal worth the extra bit of money”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 5, 2013

I am reviewing the one in the historic centre (we also saw one in San Angel). This is a lunch place and they are not open for dinner, atleast on the weekends. the food is simply delicious. the service is fair. we attempted going back twice after the first meal, but one was for dinner when they were closed and the other was sunday morning when there was a long wait. will surely go back on a return trip
