JW Marriott Hotel Mexico City Santa Fe
Ranked #31 of 312 Hotels in Mexico City
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed February 25, 2013

I stayed 3 nights with the family for personal business reasons. The hotel opened less than a year ago and has pretty much high end, modern construction, facilities and amenities. I got two rooms since it would be too cramped to get one room with two teenagers. I requested a junior suite, but they are not made for four people ended up paying about 15% more for the two rooms after talking to the manager at the front desk. I did ask marriott reervations to give me one suite that could accomodate 4 people, but had to switch

Location. Santa Fe is a suburb-like area of Mexico city, so if you are going to stay here make sure you are aware of where you want to go during your visit and figure out the distance and traffic, it may take you a coupleof hours to drive 10 miles during rush hour

Ammenities. Cool, modern weel equiped gym, good size- the door, elevator, etc key are proximity based so you dont have to swipe, they look cool and work great. The executive lounge has a great selection of food throughout the day. As well as drinks. Wine, beer included

The pool was also great. Small but has half under cover and half outside with a glass wall facing the edge of the terrace.

Rooms. Everything is nice in the rooms, bathroom, beds, tv - HD 46inches? Maybe 50 inches. The have a nespresso machine in each room, but the pods will set you 2-3 dollars, they are not included.

I was not able to go to the restaurants but they looked very good.

I did not give excellent since there are still small kinks they are working out and you can tell that there are still training some of the employees. Neverteheless they are all super friendly and want to help. Definetely go back if i need to stay in the santa fe area

Stayed here on business and had a conference in the hotel. The rooms are nice, service is good. The executive lounge has a nice outside patio. The pool looked really nice, but I didn't have a chance to use it. This hotel is about 45 minutes from the airport in the hills outside the city. The area is home to several international businesses (IBM, HP, etc). It is safe for walking around and there are plenty of nice restaurants & malls in the area.

This hotel is nice building , however the staff needs training, they are not motivated and they really do understand their responsibilities.

Great place for flight crews to stay that are tired of the local Courtyard in Toluca. Drive time was around 30 minutes from Toluca during rush hour. Hotel is located just over the mountain on the western edge of Mexico city just off the highway in a great location. The hotel has that luxury European feel with good service. Nice modern mall across the street with restaurants. Well stocked gym if you can handle the altitude. Concierge is very nice with breakfast and dinner.
The hotel was a little pricey at $320 but so worth it. Beats Toluca by a long shot. Great stay.

This is a very nice hotel in a nice and up and coming part of Mexico City. The hotel is very new and offers nice amenities. The staff speaks very good English and is very helpful. Additionally, they can arrange car services for you to take you around the city. I didn't eat at the restaurants, but understand that they are pretty good.

The rooms are nicely appointed and have coffee makers, a mini bar and plenty of fresh water available. It was very difficult however to regulate the temperature of my room. I simply couldn't get it above 68 degrees. Additionally, on the second day of my three night stay, they failed to clean my room, which was very odd. As another reader pointed out, the water in the shower barely got to a comfortable temperature.

Internet is an additional cost for those lacking Marriotts Rewards status. It was 202 pesos per day (approx $15), but they'll provide it for $10 per day over 3 days.

The biggest drawback in my opinion is the distance to Polanco, where most business is done. It seemed to be an hour's drive to every meeting we had. Santa Fe is pretty far out there and has limited eating establishments (although Villa Marie, walking distance and very good).

They have an excellent business lounge on the 14th floor.

If Santa Fe is the area that you need to be near, I'd recommend this hotel. It's reasonably priced (I paid $205 per night) and has good amenities.

Dear Guest,

Just like you mention, it has only been 7 months since our opening and we are more than happy to provide our distinguished guests like you the experience you deserve.

For your information we have 2 Restaurants, Cua: Mexican Flavors and Quattro: Authentic North Italian Cuisine. Also, all of our 221 rooms have a Nespresso Coffe Maker.

Our Concierge Staff is more than happy to hear that they where able to help you in your trip.

We are currently working on the issues you mentioned (room and shower temperature) so next time you honor us with your visit you will find the excellent conditions you need.

Also, let me tell you that the City Government is just about to finish the road construction that is causing traffic. With this new improvement, moving from Polanco to Santa Fe will be much easier and quicker.

We kindly thank you for taking the time of your schedule to write your review. We look forward to welcome you once again in this, your home away from home.

Sincerely,

Miguel Mestas

I stayed a couple of nights here over the weekend on business. The hotel looks brand new and it is located in Santa Fe, the business district of Mexico City. This district is full of tall buildings and hotels. There is a humongous mall nearby.

The staff were friendly and helpful. Check in and check out without any headaches and they gave an option to pick my floor.

I ordered room service and the quality was very good.

The room is very spacious and clean and the bathroom is also big with a tub, separate shower, and very clean.

Excellent stay overall and will definitely stay again.

Appreciated Guest,

We want to thank you for your kind review.
Like you mentioned we are located in the Santa Fe area you'll find Mexico's most important corporations as well as leading restaurants, universities, and malls.
One of the biggest in Latin America is the Centro Santa Fe, just a couple of minutes away from the hotel.

If you enjoyed Room Service you will love our Restaurants: Cua, where you can enjoy a delightful combination of Mexican flavors and drinks and Quattro, where you will discover delicious, fresh and authentic Italian food.

Our staff is thrilled to hear that they fulfilled your service expectations. It will be a pleasure to host again your next stay in Mexico City.

I stayed with several business colleagues while taking depositions for three days recently. I would rate this new Marriott (open only four months) as perhaps the finest business-class hotel I have experienced. The very modern decor, featuring an intriguing mix of dark, warm wood in both public spaces and rooms, along with impressive original artwork and expansive marble, glass and steel combined to create spaces both inviting and highly functional. I highly recommend the very reasonably priced upgrade which allows access to the business "lounge" on he top floor, which serves a nicely varied buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner in an extremely comfortable setting, which includes an open-air patio, complete with gas fire pit for the cool high-altitude evenings. My standard room was beautifully decorated, comfortable and highly functional for the business traveller (with the single exception of a slightly glitchy wi-fi requiring constant re-logging on). We did not eat at either of the hotel's highly recommended restaurants, opting instead for one of several excellent dining spots within very short walking distance in this very safe business district. The only real downside in fact was that the newly-developed Santa Fe district is a rather long cab ride from the attractive shopping, dining and sight-seeing areas of the central city. Nevertheless, I would certainly return to this top-notch facility on any future business or leisure trip to Mexico City. Highly recommend.

Greetings!

First of all let me thank you on behalf of our entire staff for your wonderful review. We are very pleased to know that we exceeded your expectations.

Its obvious that you are an experienced traveler with a very distinctive eye for details, that is why its more than an honor to be consider as the finest business hotel you have ever visited.

We thank you for letting us know about the issues you had with the internet connection. Please be sure that we are working on improving our service so you and our guests won't have to worry about anything but enjoying your stay with us.

Here is a little information about our Restaurants, it will be a pleasure to surprise you there too on your next visit:

- The best in fine Mexican dining is offer at Restaurante Cúa. There you can enjoy a careful selection of local drinks and dishes with the sophisticated flavors of timeless Mexican cooking.

- There's also our Quattro Restaurant, specialized in the gastronomy of Piamonte, Italy. It offers fresh ingredients all week long and a huge wine cellar paying homage to the country's twenty different wine-producing regions.

I also want to let you know that we are fully aware about the traffic conditions. The City Governmet is working on improving the access to the Santa Fe area, this means that by the time they finish it will be much easier to travel to the City Center.

Again, thank you for your nice words. We can't wait to have you back!
