I stayed here with a friend as a part of a tour. We paid premium prices to be able to stay at better hotels.
Location: Was average. It wasn't really walking distance to anything. It's reasonably close to Polanco, but you're better off catching a taxi. The zocalo / Centre of the city is a 20 min taxi ride. There are no eateries closeby either, however it is across the park which houses the anthropological museum.
Amenities and rooms were decent. Clean, lavish in that traditional discreet way. There were plenty of staff available, but not really friendly, or understandable if you don't speak Spanish.
The problems I ran into were:
1) we were told when checking in that our room included continental breakfast. First day, we ask and eat only the limited continental breakfast without problem. Next morning, same thing, but this time we receive a bill. We told them at we were informed at check in that it was included so a manager was sent to us and insisted she checked the computer and we definitely had no breakfast included and insisted we sign the bill. This annoyed me no end as I literally only had one bite of toast as I had an upset stomach. The next day we ordered room service for breakfast and decided to approach another manager about the situation. He looked up the computer and said yes, your room includes cont breakfast. So we ended up paying the third days breakfast for nothing. However the part which annoyed me was that the lady the day before had argued to us about it, and couldn't care less that the checkin guy told us differing info.
2) I noticed when I checked out of the hotel and was in the next city that my prescription glasses were missing. I called the hotel and they said no, we don't have them. But I'm 100% certain they were left in the hotel as I only wear them at night. No responsibility taken.
3) lastly, I had a charge on my credit card for the breakfast which I signed for upon checkout. However a week later another charge that was unauthorized was put on my credit card for $45AUD. When I called, again they pleaded ignorance and were unhelpful.
It should be noted, there were a couple of nice hotel staff, incl the manager and food staff
In summary, there are better hotels with better locations. It was nice, clean and well decorated. But with all the problems i had, I'm sure you can do better.

Great location, nice hotel but average service, average rooms, a little dated and expensive for the quality. A huge downside is parking, there is hardly any and because of traffic they may take hours to bring it.

The room was huge, clean and quiet. We ask for a view and they gave us the best, to El Castillo de Chapultepec, this hotel is located just in front of the Bosque de Chapultepec ( the squirrels are friendly but watch your fingers ;D) very close to Polanco, and other important places. The service was ok. the restaurant was awful.

Room Tip: 1001 Stunning view!!

We made reservations 2 months in advance for a "smoking" room. When we checked in we were told that no smoking rooms were available. No apologies, no offer to move us to a smoking room if one became available. This is the room we have for you. Period. So, if we wanted to smoke, we had to go down 7 floors and outside for 8 days. We found the staff to be unfriendly (with the exception of concierge, Jesus), and the service in the restaurant very slow. The food is good. The hotel is very clean. The location is great. We did not get turndown service until the last night we were there, then only 1 chocolate for 2 people. Internet WiFi charges are exhorbitant.

The room is bigger than average, specially the bathroom, which is very nice and quiet. The bed is very comfortable as well as the pillows. Water pressure is exceptional. Some details could be better, but I found this hotel to be above average Mexico City hotels. Reception (check in, specially) is a problem, it is long, awkward, unprofessional. The keys to the room did not work the first time and when we went down again to have them made again, there were other guests complaining about the same thing too. That's so annoying, specially because it's not that hard to get it right the first time! Elevators have a loud tv all the time, which wasn't nice for me. The reception area is very small, noisy and chaotic, but once you're set in your room, everything is much, much better. Location is not the best but is very good. Views are really nice and panoramic.

I have mixed feelings about the hotel. For the price I think it was good...but the amenities were really overpriced: Internet about $16, bottle of water $4, and they provide a coffee maker but you have to buy a cheap bag of coffee for about $4.

On the other hand, the room was very comfortable, updated, clean and very important for me---quiet.

The staff was very friendly, but there wasn't much tourist information for people like me who arrived without doing their homework (my decision to go to Mexico City was last minute). It seemed like the area shut down at night...I walked around a 5 block vicinity and found just middle of the road restaurants.

But all in all recommended.

I stayed here on 11/13/12 and was dissappointed. The hotel billed itself as 4 star, but was a very tired 4 star. Service was very good, as it usually is in Mexico. Everyone wants to be so helpful however, the food was medeocre, the hotel charged separately for internet, and the lobby bar offered minimal food/drinks. The location was directly accross from Chapultepec park but it was not the neighborhood to go for a stroll. No good restaruants in the area, and the room was quite tired. Overall, not a great experience.
