We absolutely adored our home at Dos Fridas. Ana is wonderful, she gave us great recommendations and made us feel at home. The other guests were friendly, but you could also totally do your own thing. It's a great neighborhood! Close to the metro station Insurgentes, the walk there is mostly pedestrian zones and fantastic for people watching. The Zona Rosa neighborhood is known for nightlife, shopping & gay community, so I felt right at home being from the Bay Area. I felt safe, and still I wouldn't walk around alone at night, just like I wouldn't in any city. Breakfasts were yummy and there's great places to eat super close.
We adored our upstairs double with private bathroom and Frida mural. It had a few mosquitos, but we just bought repellant. We loved Dos Fridas so much, we actually decided to leave another place early and come back! We ended up in a downstairs room (no private bath) next to the front door. It was also lovely, and the shared bathroom situation was great - there were about three clean, private bathrooms that were always available in the common area, I never had to wait or anything. (Super light sleepers be aware that it's close to the front door buzzer.)
I truly want to come back and visit our home in DF!More
