“Our favorite place in Mexico City”
Reviewed November 24, 2012

My wife and I stayed in this "hotel" for 4 days earlier this month. We have stayed here before and I wrote a glowing review a few years ago. Since then, there have been improvements to the rooms and they offer dinner with a menu in the evenings of relatively simple fare, but delicious. In addition, they serve complimentary beer and wine around 5 or 6 pm. I put hotel in quotes because Villa Condesa has the feel more of a mansion. The architect who renovated the place to be a hotel did a magnificent job. There are only about 14 rooms, with all the amenities. Breakfast is also complimentary, with fruit, fresh squeezed fruit juices, bread, and a variety of "main" dishes such as eggs and ham, etc. It is served in the lovely courtyard, one of our favorite places to sit and enjoy respite from the noise of the city. The Villa is run by a fantastic couple, Homero and Daisy, who go out of their way to be helpful. The staff also is very friendly and accommodating. We have stayed in many hotels in Mexico City, but now that we have found Villa Condesa, we will only stay here.

We stayed for a week in this hotel earlier this month and did enjoy our stay. It had the feel of a small, family run boutique hotel in a nice neighborhood in Mexico City. Breakfasts were always nice each day and featured a variety of Mexican dishes and were pleasantly served in the pretty courtyard of the hotel, or they could be taken on the terrace upstairs for a change of scenery. We never tried dinner at the hotel, but they were probably good as well. We spent most of our time away from the hotel touring the city, but when we were there, it was always clean and quiet. In fact, the only "complaint" that I had about the hotel was that it seemed sometimes a bit too quiet. The evenings were always and you did not feel any of the energy of the surrounding Condesa neighborhood unlike some of the adjoining hotels that were much more lively in the evenings. The Villa Condesa has a nice courtyard, so it would be nice if they could perhaps add some night time music or such. However, overall the stay was quite nice and I would certainly recommend this hotel to anyone for a good stay in MEX.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the front of the hotel. Each room is unique, so ask to look at them upon arrival...

Stayed here for a night in late October while visiting some friends in the Condesa area. Hotel (probably more like a B&B) has been converted from and older mansion and has about 14 rooms, a very nice outdoor seating area and tons of charm. We were greeted with complimentary wine while we checked in and found the rooms to be very modern and comfortable. The price was very reasonable at $145 per night and it includes a very nice breakfast. The prices at a bigger hotel on the same block was $100 higher.

The location is excellent to explore the Condesa area of Mexico City as it is ver similar in feel to Soho and Greenwich village in NYC. The Villa Condesa does not have any sign on the outside but just the street number 428 on the door. The hotel is a quick 10-15 minute cab ride to the airport. Great romantic setting in a fabulous location.

Villa Condesa is an enchanting oasis on the center of the bustle and hustle of Mexico City.
Located on the Condesa neighborhood places you in a excellent location for discovering the cities sites, latest restaurants, transportation at your hand. I went for a week and ended staying for two. Daisy, Homero, Zuleica, Rogelio and all the staff go well beyond their duty to be helpful, make you feel welcome and treat you almost like family, at least they did to me! :-)
The breakfast at their charming and well kept patio is a great start for the day!
At night you will find your accommodations ready for sleeping with a charming little sweet treat!
Without hesitations I will recommend Villa Condesa to anyone traveling to Mexico City!
Best Wishes and much luck to all at Villa Condesa,
Saludos,

I ve been here for 10 days with my husband this august and it has been a great experience. Little cozy boutique hotel. just few rooms, great breakfast friendly and helpful staff. Nice athmosphere. We liked it a lot and everytime I ll be back in DF this will be my choice where to stay!
the only little problem is that the rooms are not exactly soundproof so you can easily know when your neighbor is taking a shower or...... A part of this detail it s a great spot very well located too.

This is a lovely little place full of comfort and charm. The people who work there are like family as are the owners who spend a lot of time caring for the guests. The design and renovation is quite beautiful and creates a special experience for anyone who appreciates the visual. Close to several great restaurants and in walking distance of green parks, it is in a wonderful neighborhood. The breakfast is healthy and fresh with great coffee and fresh-squeezed juice. I definitely plan to return there and ask for the same room on my next visit.

Room Tip: For quiet, ask for room in the back on the top floor.
