“Fantastic property in the heart of Mexico City”
Reviewed August 16, 2012

This is a great hotel located in the Polanco neighborhood. Great service. The breakfast is done exceptionally well. This is very well located for business as well as tourism since it is relatively close to the Chapultapec Park and the museum of anthropology.

This hotel is located in a great andsafe area, waliking distance to great restaurants e.g. Pujol, Bajío, etc and attactions such as the museum of anthropology and the Chapultepec castle also very close to a stop of the double decker tourist bus.

Great view of the city from the top floors.

I recommend in particular theirweek end deals with access to the executive floor. If you don't want to have anythibg fancy you could even have all your meals in the executive floor included in our rate.

We paid USD 200 for a huge suite with access to the executive floor.

During the week, prices reach USD 350 or more as the hotel caters to business travellers.

This is a very very typical JW Marriott, or any other 5* property.

The decor is traditional, seems a little bit dated. The lobby feels very small, more like a boutique hotel than the grandeur of other big hotels.

Everything is what you'd expect, but nothing more.

The room service was a let down. I ordered two types of pastas on different nights and both times were very bland.

Breakfast in the executive lounge had limited choices, and the slightly better breakfast down at the restaurant costs 295 pesos even if you are an elite member.

As for the location, yes it is central and very safe, but it's the same location as Intercontinental, Hyatt and W, all on the same block.

If you are looking to accumulate nights for Marriott Rewards, stay here, otherwise prepare for a very typical stay. Can't find anything special about it.

I was away on business a bunch of times over the past years in the JW Marriott in Mexico City.
The standard of this hotel, especially the furniture and services, still persist on a high level for this years. The rooms are classical and functional. The employees are friendly and obliging. The breakfast buffet is rich and has a big variety of hot Mexican meals. The hotel's position in Polanco is very good, there are many restaurants nearly, in my opinion a great advantage because of the traffic chaos.

I am here now and this hotel has been amazing. I admit, I am hard to please and have very high standards. From the minute our taxi arrived we have been treated like honored guests which is something for a large hotel. A hotel rep met our taxi and soon another hotel rep met us and welcomed us by name. We are Marriott rewards guests which really is given perks at this chain hotel. We opted for the executive level room ( only $149 night in Mexico City! ) this included a room on the 21st floor with views of the city, executive lounge access with breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, wine and soft drinks complementary. The best was doggie bags for snacks and fresh baked cookies to take to your room! The room is beautiful with a large tub. Service is impecable. We called for another bathrobe and ice and someone was at our room within minutes. The perks also include free laundry, shoe shine, coffee delivered at the wake up call, and wifi.
The hotel is in a great location which allows us to see the Anthropological and Modern Art Museum. Did I forget to mention the beautiful pool and exercise area? Mexico is in the finals for the gold cup in soccer tomorrow. Good luck Mexico. Cant wait to expolre the city and celebrate with the Mexicans!

Room Tip: Ask for A high floor at Marriott. They always have great views.

I stay in this neighborhood every time I travel to Mexico City and it is very safe and you have many places near by, walking distance. This hotel is beautiful and the decor is very traditional. The service here is always excellent and the rooms are beautiful and spacious. The staff here is always so attentive, friendly and cater to your needs. Look forward to my next stay.

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing Chapultepeq. The view is beautiful.
