We decided to stay at this hotel for our 4 nights in Mexico City. Glad we did as its right in the middle of the action over looking The Zócalo. The staff were all helpful & courteous. I'd read somewhere online that only suites have a view of the square so we booked a junior suite (at a good rate via one of the hotel comparison sites). Thankfully it paid off and we had a room overlooking the square. The only drawback in this was the noise from the square - there was a concert on our first night and then due to the marking of a public holiday a marching band treated us to a 6am wake up call as they raised the flag with gusto!! We were already awake anyway due to jet lag but if you are a light sleeper it is something worth considering. The room was generally comfortable (bed was a bit short for my partner) and clean. The restaurant food is nice enough, lots of attentive waiters and it has a great view of the square. Definitely a great hotel for a short trip to Mexico City.

This hotel has a great location, right on the zocalo. Check-in is always easy & efficient & the reception staff are always friendly & helpful. The rooms are really comfortable & have everything that you need. The restaurant is very good but the views are amazing.
Will definitely be having a fourth stay here !!

We been trying to get into this hotel for years, so call as early as you can when making reservations. It's so worth it to stay right in the center of the city overlooking the Zocalo. The view fro the restaurant especially for breakfast is fantastic. My only complaint was they were constantly working on the streets when we were there and it was difficult to avoid the noise. Great jumping off spot to all of Mexico City. Surprisingly, the traffic was better in this area than a lot of other places in the City. Our room was nice, facing the streets had it's pluses and minus due to the noise of the construction but the view in watching the street below was well worth it. Enjoy !

Room Tip: As a place to view the heart of the city this hotel is the one. The indoor /outdoor restaurant and...

We stayed three nights in this hotel and thought it was very good. It's central location on the Zocalo couldn't be better . You can do a walking tour of the old area. We never felt in danger, although we were in a group. The rooms are quite small but very clean and well furnished . The breakfast in the restuarant was good, a mixture of european and mexican dishes . However, this restaurant was not so good in the evening with poor service and food. However, it is at the top of the hotel with an outside balcony and there are great views over the Zocola, so worth going up there for a drink!

Room Tip: Rooms at back are quieter

I have stayed at this hotel for the past six years, once or twice a year.Very pleasant staff, good service. Rooms are comfortable and clean.Maintenance sometimes an issue. Location is excellent in the very heart of the Zocalo, or main square of Mexico City. The manager is very kind and accomodating..
Restaurant is a franchise and quality of food only fair.
I will be back later this year again.

This was a hotel we stayed at on four different occasions over a one month period, our first stay did not start too well - insted of twin beds we were given a room with a queen bed (4 ft 6ins in width) and the following morning when we arrived at breakfast early only to find all the tables were taken by European tour groups - it had rained & the terrace was closed.

Having spoken to the efficient reception staff before departure, on our next & subsequent visits we had a twin room (OK it was small, but it was perfectly formed & quiet). Breakfasts also improved, the terrace was open plus an overflow area immediately before the main dinning room. Bathroom was fine - good shower head - but no sink plug!

I do not understand why Holiday Inns recognise that they have French, German, Spanish & Italian guests and as such provide a TV station for them. For English speakers, other than Americans, there is no world news programme: CNN is by the USA for the USA. At least at this Holiday Inn there was free use of the internet in the lobby.

The staff are very friendly & helpful & I would recommend this hotel to you

Finally for a special meal, try the Casa de las Sirenas, which is behind the Cathedral at 12 Republica de Guatemala.
