a brand new museum opened by richest man in the world, Carlos Slim (el hombre pobre as our taxi driver said) in memory of his late wife. The collection is astounding and yet another case of walking around with my mouth agape at all the artworks and other things I am seeing...
(Don't miss the bathrooms... most beautiful washrooms I saw in Mexico...)

Thank Jeff G

Not only was the building's architecture amazing the art collection it housed was superior. We started at the top and wound our way to the bottom. The collection of Rodin sculptures was one of the most comprehensive that I had ever seen. The Dali bronzes were also amazing. The museum was free and has some of the best paintings I've seen in one place in a very long time. The El Greco's were really good but I have to say the later works of Van Gogh really impressed me. I am not that familiar with Mexican painters and the museum had a very good collection. It was nice to be exposed to works that I was unfamiliar with.

This museum belongs to richest man in Mexico, Mr. Carlos Slim. He is very generous because he opens his museum free to public. The biggest interest of this museum is "Rodan". He has many collections of Rodan in top floor. Maybe this is the 2nd biggest Rodan museum next Rodan museum in Paris. This museum has 6th stories. Beside Rodan, Dali, several impressionisms, and modern Mexican art. This museum has cafe restaurant, so you can take a coffee or snack, when you get tired.

this should be an iconic museum of the city like Gugenheim or so, but really its a big disapointed piece. donnsnt have any museography wathsoever, everithing its just pilled up there, the museum itself has a lot of flaws and the sorruondings still need a lot of work to make this coordinate with the surrounding enviroment

Apparently this is Carlos Slim's museum, which would be the usa equivalent of Bill Gates's museum. It was full of treasures and was lovely to see.
