“nice inner city park & castle”
Reviewed July 29, 2014

The Chapultepec Castle is located on top of a small hill inside the Chapultepec Park. The park is one the principal recreation areas in DF. The castle is nice to view and an important asset in Mexican history. Unfortunately you can see all the smog that fills Mexico City once you are on top of the hill, but you knew that before, didn't you? It is well worth spending an hour or two going through the different rooms and marvel at the first elevator ever installed in Mexico.

“Beautiful gardens and castle”
Reviewed July 26, 2014

Lovely castle and gardens in the heart of Chapultepec Park. Admission was 59 pesos. Great views and interesting artifacts to see. You can peak in the rooms with original furnishings. There are also carriages on display. Our favorite, was all of the beautiful stain glass throughout the castle. Sadly, the silver is not polished and lacking it's natural luster. Totally worth the walk!

“Interesting relict of mexican & european history”
Reviewed July 20, 2014

If you are from europe (or have travelled to central europe) the castle and exhibition itself will not blow you away. For travellers that did not have the chance to see a european castle yet, this is a good chance! The castle is well renovated and show a lot of original pieces. Visitors get a lot of information about a more recent part of mexican history. I just did not rate it as excellent as i have seen a lot of similar castles before. So if you need to make choices what to visit in mexico city i would recommend the museo de antropologia and teotihuacan as the top picks. If you have more time come here as well (or if you really like to see a castle :-)
