We went on the late night tacos and mezcal tour with Natalia and Paco. We booked a public tour but it ended up just being the two of us. We wanted to try the street food but were nervous about doing it on our own as we don't speak Spanish and, of course, did not have knowledge of where the good places were to go! We got to try so much food and it was all delicious, it's an experience that we just wouldn't have had on our own and was a real highlight of our trip to Mexico. Both Natalia (our guide) and Paco (our driver who is also a guide) were very knowledgeable and friendly and happy to answer any questions that we had, both about food and Mexico in general. We felt that we were out with a friend as opposed to being on an organised tour. We also stopped at a Mezcal bar, where we got to do a taste testing of various Mezcal's and learn all about it and stopped at a craft beer shop. At no time did we feel rushed and Natalia was always asking us if we wanted more food! At the end of the night we were very comfortably full and had tried a wide range of taco's. Yes, this tour is expensive but in my opinion it is definitely worth it.

I booked a private tour for two of us and it was well worth it. The guide was knowledgeable, there was a good variety of food and the perfect quantity. We both knew that there was a lot of food so we ate a very light breakfast, otherwise we would have been full far too early. Well worth the price of admission.

Three of us went on this tour, my daughter, who lives in DF( Mexico City) and is a travel journalist, along with me a Food Blogger and my husband, a food eater. We were joined by one other English lady, Sarah, also a food journalist. Arturo was our guide, a great chef, and teacher who personally knew the vendors and explained all of the different tacos, tortillas, burritos, going. We visited, about 10 stands, and everything we ate was delicious, we had a quick visit to the local fixed market, where we tried some chicharrón, which is fried pork skins( and not as in healthy as some might think!)
As others have said, the Tortilla factory was an eye opener, and all of the stalls we visited were clean and the vendors were really friendly. I was also very impressed with the hours that these vendors work, and with a smile on their faces.Would recommend this tour to anyone who wants to see the real Mexico City and for anyone vaguely interested in food.Worth every penny especially as the guide takes care of cost of the food we ate.

Everything from the booking to the last minute at the tour was just perfect! Everything that they "sell" you in their website it is true and you will have an amazing experience. We did the Market tour (we were 6 in our group...4 adults and 2 kids, so the tour was a private one for only us) and the whole thing (about 4-5hrs) was great - starting with the visit to the "Panaderia" (Mexican bakery) where you can try delicious conchas and many other yummy sweet breads. Then you go an try some of the local food at a very typical establishments - the food everywhere was so so so good that I only wish we had it all here in Paris!!! We visited two markets and each one had their own charm and unique things to do and try - we loved trying all those amazing fruits that you can not find anywhere else. We also went to a cheese stand, a mole stand and many more....I could keep writing on how a great and amazing experience this was, but the best thing to do is to TRY it if you go to Mexico City - you will love it and you won't be disappointed at all!

Had a fantastic morning with Paco as he took us around from stall to stall, sampling the finest street food that Mexico City has to offer. He was very knowledgeable about all the food and best places to get it, and had answers for any questions we threw his way. If that was it, it would have been enough, but Paco gave us so much more! Lots of facts and information about the city and the wider country; this was really an introduction to a whole culture through the lens of its most celebrated food.

Only things I'd advise everyone to do is go with a very empty stomach and an open mind. Try everything; you'll be full 'till busting by the end, but you'll be surprised by all the things which you may hesitate to try at first but which, like everything else, taste fantastic.

Oh, and for anyone worried about spice; don't be. I like spice and had my head suitably blown off, but my wife doesn't like spice and was still able to enjoy everything with hot stuff removed as necessary.

Do this trip. The best way to get a taste of the city!
