“Great place to stay in Mexico City.”
Reviewed July 10, 2013

Very nice accommodations. Bed could have been a little softer, but everything else was top notch. Staff was great and very accommodating. Breakfasts were very good. I would stay here again and recommend it to my friends.

I stayed in the room "Oaxaca" for four nights in late June 2013. I don't think any luxury hotel can compete with this room -- it is large, with high ceilings, has a lot of charm and a little balcony, where you can sit and read in the evenings. There is a bit of street noise coming in, but I didn't mind, and if you shut the windows, it's very quiet.
San Rafael is a great neighborhood, the metro is close, but one can also walk to most parts of the city.
The staff of El Patio 77 is wonderful -- very friendly, relaxed and helpful. The breakfast was very good and different every day. Thank you for a great stay!

Room Tip: "Oaxaca" has its own bathroom and a balcony, but the other rooms might be very nice as wel...

This place is artsy, welcoming and comfortable. Cool art on the walls, high ceilings, comfortable rooms, and a breakfast room that makes it easy to chit chat with other guests. The staff/ownership were pretty friendly and helpful and linked us up with a really great market tour (Urban Adventures). For the money this place is top bar.

Hello
Thank you very much for your comments.
The reason why we have art all over the house is that we are also an art gallery.
We promote local and international artists and every 3 months aprox. we change
the exhibitions. We always try to make your stay easier and more comfortable and also
to keep a friendly vibe.

For me as an experienced traveler, people make the difference: even if i cannot emphasize enough that this beautiful, artsy, comfortable, clean, stylish B&B in a tasteful renovated historical building in Colonia San Rafael (good location, the Metro station San Cosme gets you everywhere very easy) offers the perfect surrounding for a stay in Mexico City, the people working there create an atmosphere of being home. Vero, Alejandro, Adrian and the ladies who run the culinary part are just adorable. Very friendly, open-minded, eager to assist and help made my 5 day stay in El Patio 77 an unforgettable experience. The breakfast is tasty, light Mexican flavor, nice coffee and fresh orange juice enriched by interesting conversations with other travelers provides a perfect start in your day. I had to change my room 3 times, because I happened to stay there last minute. But it was no hassle at all for me. The first night I stayed in the room "DF", which was my favorite after all, with shared bathroom (which was super smooth with my nice neighbor), second night in "Guerrero" and the last 3 nights in the "Oaxaca" suite with private bathroom. All super clean, very spacious, art everywhere and tasteful furniture. A highly recommendable place to feel home, comfortable & safe in this wonderful, artistic city. I will hopefully come back soon! And as Vero said when we said good- bye: You now have a home in Mexico DF! True words...

Room Tip: I loved the rooms on the upper floor because I prefer to sleep with open windows.

Fabulous, staff very personable, beautiful space, and the was breakfast fantastic! Every morning the staff would ask us where we were heading to and they would give us a local recommendation. Can't speak more highly of our stay!

Will stay here again and have already recommended to our friends. Walking distance to everything or very easy to catch the subway. Only complaint it was a little noisy at night but would stay there again. Love it!!!!

Our room, the Oaxaca Suite was very large and comfortable in this historic building in the Colonia San Rafael neighborhood. A different traditional breakfast was served each day with great coffee from the Mexican State of Chiapas. A walking tour map was provided in each room that we used to learn more of the neighborhood. One of the places on the map was the Museo Del Instituto de Geologia, U.N.A.M. that we visited. We had two English speaking guides for over an hour....just an amazing afternoon...would recommend any time you can spend here. We were very comfortable and felt very safe while at the El Patio 77. We rode the Metro and bus lines every day to other areas of Mexico City. There are many neighborhood style restaurants in the area but a very limited selection of upscale restaurants near by.

Room Tip: We also stayed in the Chiapas Suite which was just as large...a little more masculine but very comfo...

This is truly a great place to stay, especially if you want to be close to the center of Mexico City while still experiencing life in a real neighborhood. This was my first trip to Mexico City, so the staff (Veronica, Alex, Alan, etc.) really helped me feel at home and well acclimated. I was in town only four days, so they really had me make the most of he time.. and they helped me relax. The food was great and he rooms were very cool. I particularly loved the entrance.
