We had never been to Mexico City before, so we were looking for somewhere that was nice, safe, and in a good location. Hotel Geneve absolutely fit the bill. We found a fantastic deal via Mexvax, which was a Tripadvisor partner site until recently. Upon arrival, we were pretty much blown away by how elegant the hotel was. It is an older establishment and it shows in some areas, like the hallways, but it's incredibly classy overall. We try hard but our Spanish sucks so it was nice to have a front desk that speaks English. Rooms were very well-equipped with really comfortable beds, hangers, a hair dryer for the ladies, and toilets that are able to handle TP. We did not find noise to be a problem at all; once the AC was cranked up, we couldn't hear anything outside except for a trumpet from the nearby government building each evening at roughly 6:15 p.m., and we enjoyed this nightly performance. Free WiFi is advertised as available in the lobby, but I had full WiFi reception throughout the property, including our fourth floor room.

The surrounding neighborhood was also pretty great, full of food and drink options (and certainly no shortage of sex shops if you are so inclined). There's also an Extra market and a Circle K on the same block for your supplies. If you're headed further afield, taxis are always available out front, and Insurgentes Metro station is a five-minute walk. We stumbled all over this neighborhood at all hours and safety never struck us as a concern.

Overall, you get a whole lot at Hotel Geneve for what you pay. I would most definitely stay here again without hesitation.

I have stayed at the Hotel Geneve in the Zona Rosa on two occasions and am going back in June. The service is impeccable and the staff very helpful and accommodating. The hotel itself is elegant, with a beautiful lobby and bar. The location can't be beat for easy access to the sights. The metro is just a few blocks away. I highly recommend the hotel in all respects..

Room Tip: Request a room in the old section, overlooking Calle Londres, if possible.

When looking for options to stay within the "cool" area of Mexico City, there are endless different hotels. But this one really stands out.

From the main entrance, going through the hallways, the two-stories library and restaurant/bar, until your room, all the decoration represents the concept of a "Museum Hotel" perfectly! It really takes you back in the days where Porfirio Díaz was a main character in the Mexican History.

The rooms, are comfortable and well equipped, mainly the bathroom! :) However, if you have really light sleep, you will wanna stay again from the rooms heading to main street.

In addition, all the staff is super nice, ready to answer all you questions and help you as far as possible.

Don't miss going for a drink in the phone bar, having breakfast in the restaurant and walking through all the corners of the hotel, you never know what is waiting for you just around the corner.

Finally the location, you will have on walking distance important boutiques, bars and restaurants for all kinds of crowd. And if you just want to take a nice cup of coffee, there is a "Cielito Querido Café" just a few steps away. Nevertheless, if you are looking for the trendy zone Condesa, it only takes a 80 pesos cab ride until there.

All the positive comments, of which there are many, written by fellow TripAdvisor members are true. The only negative is that it is in the middle of a thriving entertaininment area. So even though I requested a room in the "back", away from the street, I could still hear the partying. It didn't keep me awake for long though and unless you hole up in your room all day and don't go out and hit the town, you will be tired when you return and will easily get your zzzzzz's despite the noise of the people enjoying themselves in La Zona Rosa. If I ever return, which I hope to some day. The Hotel Geneve will be my base of operation.

This is my first time staying in the "zona rosa" I booked a flight and hotel package and thought that was a good Idea. Boy was I wrong.

The Hotel it self its beautiful, the service it's average nothing spectacular.

The one thing I disliked a lot was the area, It definitely did not feel as safe as polanco and if you like the alternative life styles this is the place to go. not so much for me.

If this hotel was in a different location I would have given it a higher rating.
