Just two blocks from the heart of town and Reforma and in a neighborhood with many embassies. The British embassy is across the street and the USA embassy is about a block and a half away. We have found that neighborhood housing embassies tend to be very safe and pleasant and this area was no exception. Many fine eating places very close. The breakfasts in the facility are very good. Our room was small but very adequate and clean. We would happily go back there.

Excellent English speaking staff. Hotel situated in high security zone. Cleaned room at affordable price. Comes with all the amenities. Very near to many attractions. Stayed only once because it’s provide service like B&B and I prefer to stay in hotel. Food was really tasty. If you are looking for cheaper hotel in that area Casa Gonzalez is for you.

We spent five nights at Casa Gonzlez and loved every minute. The rooms are basic, the property is approaching it’s 100th birthday, it is a traditional Mexican guest house design with private en-suite rooms and it is in the most amazingly picturesque location you could imagine. If you shun the chain hotel and are looking for something unique, family run and with style. Stay here. You won’t be disappointed.

Room tip: Smaller rooms may be a little tight for those who like their space. We booked an upstairs King room and it was huge with a small balcony.

We had a great week here and found the staff to be friendly and very helpful. Super comfortable beds and nice en-suite bathrooms, good breakfasts and even had dinner here on Sunday evening when many restaurants are closed. We took advantage of their laundry service too. There is also a great coffee place around the corner and a very good pizza restaurant across the street. We could walk to Chapultepec Park where the museums are and to some of the interesting neighbourhoods like Roma and Condessa. Took a taxi to the Zocalo but ended up walking back as there was so much we wanted to see along the way. Reasonably priced and a genuine Mexican experience.

Room tip: We had #135 and #136 large rooms with balcony.

We spent a delightful stay at Hotel Casa Gonzales. The location was perfect - easy walk to buses and subway as well as the major sites. The staff could not have been kinder, and the gardens in the hotel were delightful. The restaurant is good and offers good breakfast options as well as dinner. There are a variety of rooms to choose from - so select well as some of the road facing rooms were reported to be quite noisy.

Room tip: It is an older and charming hotel - so stairways to 2nd floor rooms may be tricky depending on individual traveler needs
