“A wonderful getaway inside Mexico City ...”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 21, 2014

We went to the Bosque de Tlalpan with some visiting some family ... I had never been even after years in the DF.

It was impressive and very well maintained park with impressive gardens and pine forest (where the name is derived). If you want to run and are staying in the southern edges of the city, the Bosque is ideal.

There is no entrance fee into the Bosque but I am not sure if parking is free as we arrived by taxi.

“Great, but a little out of the way.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 15, 2013

The old village of Tlalpan has conserved its charm over the years. The square is a lot less busy than Coyoacán or San Angel on a Saturday or Sunday, it is also much more compact, but still offering a selection of coffee shops, restaurants and bars.

The church has a nice foyer and the casa de cultura across the square is very nicely kept. Have a nice coffee in the portales and visit the community centre next to the square.

“Tlalpan”

It's a nice place but the traffic is a drag. However, the bosques de tlalpan is an excellent spot to run or just walk.

“colonial square”

Prety quiet village square in the south of the city. Was a separate village - now subsumed into Mexico City - an oasis with some good local restaurants

“A flavor of Mexico in a not so touristy place”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 13, 2012

Off the beaten track but filled with the essence of Mexico. The local market is filled with fruits and vegetables that are so typical of Mexico.
